Why Experienced Investors Trust Big Companies During Bear Markets
The headline says “investors with experience,” not “long-term investors.” Experienced investors have seen bear markets before. They know that when the stock market is down, the best companies to invest in are those run by big, well-known industrial groups that have a history of success. These companies know how to handle tough times and have a solid track record.
So, if you’re thinking about investing during a market dip, remember: the stocks of trusted companies could be the way to go. It’s a smart move to look for companies that have proven they can succeed even in hard times. -

Is Rekha Gupta’s Husband in Charge? A Political Controversy Unfolds
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is making serious claims about Delhi’s Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta. They say her husband, Manish Gupta, is actually controlling the government. Atishi, the leader of the opposition, shared a photo showing Manish running a meeting with city officials. She compared this situation to when a woman village leader is elected, and people say her husband does all the work. Atishi found it shocking that a woman as important as a Chief Minister would have her husband running things.
Atishi also raised concerns about problems like frequent power cuts and rising school fees, suggesting that Manish might be involved in those issues too. However, Virendra Sachdeva, the head of the Delhi BJP, said Atishi’s comments were disrespectful. He praised Rekha Gupta for her hard work and insisted it’s normal for family members to support each other in public service.
Rekha Gupta’s husband, Manish Gupta, runs a business called Nikunj Enterprises and works with Kotak Life Insurance. Rekha has acknowledged his support for her career and credited him for helping her achieve her goals.
In response to the AAP’s accusations, Sachdeva pointed out that it’s common for political leaders’ spouses to be involved in their work, mentioning instances involving AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal’s wife. He questioned whether those actions were also seen as disrespectful to democracy. -
New Delhi Weather: Dust Storms, Rainfall, and Safety Tips
New Delhi experienced strong dust storms and strong winds recently. On Saturday, the maximum temperature dipped to 35.2 degrees Celsius, which is 0.9 degrees below normal. The air felt quite humid, with humidity levels between 41% and 78%. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that the capital saw a little rain, measuring 0.7 mm from 8:30 am Friday to Saturday.
The most rain fell in Ayanagar, measuring 4 mm, while other areas like Pitampura, Palam, and Ridge saw lesser amounts. In Safdarjung, only 0.7 mm of rain was recorded, and Lodhi Road, Pusa, and Mayur Vihar had 0.5 mm each.
The minimum temperature dropped to 19 degrees Celsius, which is 2 degrees below the normal for this season. The weather turned suddenly on Friday, following the dust storms, leading to a sharp temperature decrease.
Sadly, two people lost their lives during these storms, including a 10-year-old girl named Avani, who died when a part of a building fell on her. In another incident, a 67-year-old man, Chander Pal, also died when construction materials fell from a roof.
The IMD had warned citizens of possible bad weather and suggested they stay inside, secure their homes, and avoid unnecessary travel.
Looking ahead to Sunday, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy, with temperatures reaching a maximum of 37 degrees and a minimum of 20 degrees Celsius.
As for the air quality, it was in the ‘moderate’ category with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 166 at 4 pm. AQI values vary from 0-50 (good) to 401-500 (severe).

Murshidabad Violence: Court Orders Forces to Restore Peace
The Calcutta High Court has asked for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) to be sent to Murshidabad district in West Bengal. This action comes after violence erupted, which some say is linked to protests against a new law called the Waqf (Amendment) Act. Tragically, two people were killed and over 100 others were arrested.
A group of judges, led by Justice Soumen Sen, decided to send the CAPF to help restore calm in affected areas of Murshidabad. They instructed both the state and national governments to provide detailed reports regarding the situation. The next court hearing is set for April 17.
The special court was formed quickly to address a request by Suvendu Adhikari, who leads the opposition in the West Bengal Assembly. He wanted central forces to control the unrest in the district. Seven groups of Border Security Force (BSF) were sent to places like Suti, Dhuliyan, and Samserganj, which were the worst hit. However, Adhikari’s lawyer claimed that the BSF was not being used effectively to manage the chaos.
The violence reportedly started due to protests against the Waqf Bill. Sadly, two victims—a father and his son—were found in their home in Jafrabad with fatal stab wounds. They were taken to the hospital but were pronounced dead. Family members believe that robbers harmed them before escaping. Investigators are currently looking for those responsible.
In a different incident on the same day, another person was shot and injured in Dhulian. Police have been patrolling and checking areas to keep the peace. So far, 118 people have been arrested due to the protests. This number might go up since clashes have led to injuries, including 15 police officers.
The Waqf (Amendment) Bill was introduced and passed in Parliament earlier this month and became law after the President approved it on April 5. While some groups are protesting against this law, the BJP party has started a campaign to share the benefits of the Waqf Act with the Muslim community, which will run from April 20 to May 5. -
Karnataka Renames Tumkur Railway Station to Honor Shivakumara Swamiji
The Karnataka government has decided to rename the Tumkur Railway Station, which has the code ‘TK’, to Dr. Shri Shri Shivakumara Swamiji Railway Station. This station is part of the South Western Railway zone in India.
In a letter sent on April 8, the Karnataka government asked the Ministry of Home Affairs to approve this name change quickly. The letter explained that the Sri Siddaganga Mutt is very important to people in the state, as it has been helping those in need by providing food, shelter, and education for many years.
Padmabhushan Dr. Shri Shri Shivakumara Mahaswamiji led the Mutt starting in 1930 and served the community for almost 87 years. Many people, including Presidents and Prime Ministers, have visited the Mutt and praised the great work done by Mahaswamiji.
The Karnataka government hopes the Ministry of Home Affairs will support their proposal to rename the Tumkur Railway Station to honor this influential leader as soon as possible. -
YouTubers Jaspreet Singh and Others Questioned by Assam Police for Obscenity
Popular YouTuber Jaspreet Singh visited the Assam Police on Saturday because he, along with four others, is being investigated for promoting inappropriate content during a publicly shown online show. An officer stated that Singh was questioned by the investigating officer from the Guwahati Police’s Crime Branch in the afternoon, and his statement was recorded.
Another YouTuber, Samay Raina, had previously appeared for questioning on April 5. The only one left to be questioned is Apoorva Makhija. The police had sent messages to Singh and Makhija after they emailed saying they were out of the country, asking them to come in for questioning.
The Guwahati Police has accused Raina, Singh, popular influencer Ranveer Allahabadia, and Ashish Chanchlani, among others, of sharing obscene and vulgar discussions on an online show. They claim this could harm public decency and morality.
The crime branch registered the case under several laws, including those related to obscenity and the protection of women. Ranveer Allahabadia appeared before the police on March 7 and was questioned for more than four hours. He promised to cooperate with future inquiries, including coming back to Guwahati. A top court granted him safety from arrest but called his comments “vulgar.”
Ashish Chanchlani was the first to be questioned, appearing on February 27, and he received pre-arrest bail earlier in February. Besides these five YouTubers, the owner of the location where the controversial show was filmed is also involved in the case. -
Review: Is Emmanuelle a Missed Opportunity in Modern Cinema?
Movie Review: Emmanuelle
Cast: Noémie Merlant, Naomi Watts, Will Sharpe
Director: Audrey Diwan
Star Rating: ★★
After the success of her powerful film Happening, expectations were high for Audrey Diwan’s new movie, Emmanuelle. Unfortunately, this update of a classic erotic novel feels empty and lacks excitement.
The story follows Noémie Merlant as a hotel inspector who is curious about what happens behind the scenes at a fancy hotel. She wants to learn more about the hotel manager, Margot (Naomi Watts), and a mysterious guest named Kei (Will Sharpe), who acts strangely and talks in confusing ways.
While the film aims to explore female sexuality, it plays it too safe. Emmanuelle has no backstory, and we don’t really understand what she wants. Merlant looks stunning, but her character feels flat and confused. Naomi Watts doesn’t get to shine in her limited role, and Will Sharpe’s character is poorly written.
The screenplay by Diwan and Rebecca Zlotowski lacks depth and focuses more on the hotel’s luxury than on Emmanuelle’s development. The lines are often confusing and don’t reflect the high-class setting well.
Emmanuelle struggles with its identity. It tries to be modern but misses the mark on what autonomy and desire really mean for a woman. The film is filled with lavish hotel scenes and beautiful food but lacks emotional weight and excitement in its sex scenes.
Overall, Emmanuelle feels aimless and doesn’t engage the audience. It’s stylish but lacks substance to keep viewers invested.
