Major Arrest: 22 Naxalites Hindered by Police in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh

The police in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district have arrested 22 Naxalites and found explosive materials. This happened at three different locations.

On Tuesday, seven lower-rank members were caught in a forest near Tekmetla village. A combined team of CoBRA (an elite unit of the CRPF) and local police was on a mission to patrol the area when they made the arrests.

In another action, six Naxalites were arrested from a fort in Belchar village, and nine more were taken into custody from a forest in Kandakarka village. Separate teams of security personnel carried out these operations.

The arrested Naxalites, aged between 19 and 45 years, had dangerous items with them, including tiffin bombs, gelatin sticks, detonators, electric wires, batteries, and Maoist pamphlets.

  • Sunny Deol’s Jaat 2 Announced Despite Mixed Reviews!

Sunny Deol’s Jaat 2 Announced Despite Mixed Reviews!

Sunny Deol is back for more action! Just a week after his new movie, Jaat, hit theaters, he announced that there will be a sequel called Jaat 2. This is surprising because Jaat hasn’t been a box office hit. However, the team behind the movie believes it will make enough money to cover costs, so they are moving ahead with Jaat 2.

On Thursday morning, Sunny shared a cool poster for Jaat 2 on Instagram with the message, “#Jaat on to a New Mission! #Jaat2”. It was also revealed that Gopichand Malineni will return to direct the sequel, and the same producers, Naveen Yerneni, Ravi Shankar Y, and TG Vishwa Prasad, will be involved again through Mythri Movie Makers. So far, only Sunny Deol’s return has been confirmed for the cast.

Jaat was Sunny’s first big movie aimed at all of India and marked the Hindi debut of director Gopichand Malineni. The film featured Randeep Hooda as the bad guy and included Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, Vineet Kumar Singh, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab, and Jagapathi Babu in important roles. While Jaat received mixed reviews from critics, fans enjoyed the action scenes and the performances from Sunny and Randeep.

However, Jaat hasn’t been a big success at the box office. It released on April 10 and only made ₹9.50 crore in India and ₹13 crore worldwide on its opening day. After the first week, it earned around ₹57.50 crore net in India and about ₹75 crore globally. With ticket sales declining, it seems unlikely that Jaat will cross the ₹100-crore mark worldwide, and it may struggle to reach that in India. The news of a sequel, despite Jaat’s average performance, has caught many in the industry by surprise.

  • Tripura’s ₹969 Crore Initiative for Milk, Eggs, Fish, and Meat Production

Tripura’s ₹969 Crore Initiative for Milk, Eggs, Fish, and Meat Production

Agartala, Tripura’s Chief Minister Manik Saha has asked the central government for ₹969 crore to help Tripura become self-sufficient in producing milk, eggs, fish, and meat. This request was made during a virtual meeting with other northeastern state leaders and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

In Tripura, milk production for 2023-24 is 2.47 lakh metric tonnes, but the state needs 2.82 lakh metric tonnes. This means there is a gap of 0.35 lakh metric tonnes. To close this gap, Tripura is using new methods like artificial insemination to help cows breed better.

Saha suggested building eight dairy farms, one in each district, costing ₹80 crore. He also proposed a ₹7-crore plan to help the Gomati Cooperative Milk Producers Union by setting up bulk cooling stations for milk.

Tripura stands out in egg production, offering 87 eggs per person each year—more than any other northeastern state. This success is thanks to the Mukhya Mantri Prani Sampad Vikas Yojana, which has provided around 3 lakh chicks in the last two years. To boost egg production further, Saha wants ₹15 crore to create small hatcheries run by farmers in each village and ₹6 crore to improve existing poultry farms.

For the meat industry, Saha wants a ₹17-crore project to build a meat production and processing center. He also mentioned the need for an automated feed mixing plant for livestock and fish, costing ₹30 crore, because feed is often hard to find in the Northeast.
