Things aren’t going well for Pakistan cricket right now. After a disappointing performance in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, where they couldn’t move past the group stage, the team faced an even tougher time. Pakistan lost all three matches in a one-day series against New Zealand and was beaten 1-4 in a five-match T20 series against the same team.
Former Pakistan player Basit Ali has openly criticized the team’s selectors and head coach, Aaqib Javed, saying they should quit because of the poor results. Basit highlighted that the team made a mistake by choosing only one main spinner, Abrar Ahmad, for such a big tournament. Many experts felt the selections for the Champions Trophy were wrong, and Basit believes the management is making bad choices.
He warned that if the current selectors and coach don’t change, Pakistan might lose its upcoming series against Bangladesh. Basit even said, “Even a tomato seller knows more than the current management,” meaning that mistakes have been obvious to everyone.
He also suggested that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, should look into things and consider organizing the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in a T10 format. Basit thinks this could help star players like Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam improve their hitting skills.
Earlier, Pakistan was knocked out of the Champions Trophy after losing to New Zealand and India, with their last game against Bangladesh being canceled due to rain. Another former player, Sikander Bakht, has called for the PCB to revoke players’ central contracts until they win the Asia Cup or a World Cup.
What’s more troubling for Pakistan is that New Zealand didn’t even bring their strongest team, as many players were busy with the Indian Premier League (IPL).

While she was doing this, someone took a picture of her and made a mean comment online. This made her really sad, and she cried all night. But that moment pushed her to prove herself to everyone.
Soon after, she joined a beauty pageant at her college, even though she didn’t know much about modeling. Luckily, she won! This led her to get noticed by magazines and casting agents. After that, she tried out for her first TV role and got it! When she returned to college, many of the kids who teased her wanted to take pictures with her.

Bengaluru’s Women Safety Crisis: Minister’s Controversial Remarks Spark Outrage
Karnataka’s home minister, G Parameshwara, caused a stir recently by saying that sexual harassment incidents happen often in big cities. This statement came after a video went viral showing a woman being groped in Bengaluru’s BTM layout late at night last week. The video, taken with a CCTV camera, showed two women walking in an alley when a man, who seemed to be following them, suddenly approached, attacked one of them, and then ran away.
The incident happened at around 1:52 am on April 3, and has raised major concerns about women’s safety in the city. Although the women have not reported the case, the Bengaluru police are taking action on their own. They have filed charges against the attacker under a law that punishes anyone who tries to disrobe a woman.
Sexual harassment is a serious issue in Bengaluru. Just this January, a 24-year-old woman was harassed by two men who jumped into her cab as she was getting in. The men first fought with the cab driver, and when the woman tried to escape, one of them grabbed her neck while the other tried to rip her clothes off. She screamed for help, and luckily, the men ran away.
Authorities have promised to increase police patrols to keep women safer in the city and take necessary legal actions against such crimes. -
Heartbreaking Finale of 1923 Season 2: What Happened to Spencer and Alex?
The final episode of 1923 Season 2 aired on Sunday, leaving many fans upset about what happened to the main characters, Spencer Dutton (played by Brandon Sklenar) and Alexandra “Alex” (played by Julia Schlaepfer). In the heart-wrenching ending, Spencer and Alex finally came together after being apart for a year. Alex had a baby boy, but sadly, she was in bad shape and died after giving birth. This meant Spencer lost his wife.
At the end of the show, Spencer appeared next to Alex’s grave, showing how much he loved her. A voiceover explained that he never married again after her death. The last scene showed Spencer and Alex beautifully dancing together in a ballroom, frozen in time, hinting that he passed away next to her grave.
Brandon Sklenar shared his thoughts about this emotional scene with Screenrant. He said it was hard for him to control his feelings while filming. Spencer struggles with the idea of death but knows it’s real. He feels a deep love for Alex and regrets not being able to show her how much she meant to him. Living with that pain is truly heartbreaking.
As for Season 3 of 1923, there has been no official announcement yet. The show features stars like Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. There is another Yellowstone spin-off called 1944 in the works, but it’s not confirmed if Spencer Dutton will be part of that story. -
Debate on Long Work Hours: Ambition vs. Work-Life Balance in India
Recently, there was a lot of talk about long work hours in India after some business leaders suggested ideas like working 70 to 90 hours a week. This caused a big reaction online, with many people upset about the idea of not having enough time for their lives outside of work.
Harsh Goenka, the head of the RPG Group, tried to support these ideas. He said that when leaders like Narayana Murthy and SN Subrahmanyan talked about long hours, they weren’t serious but were trying to point out something important. He believes India should focus on working harder and having lower expectations to compete with big countries like China and the United States.
Earlier in the year, Narayana Murthy, who is the chairperson of Infosys, said that working 70 hours a week could help India grow. SN Subrahmanyan from L&T even said he would make his workers work 90 hours and on Sundays if he could. Many people were unhappy with the idea, saying it wasn’t fair to the employees.
Even though Goenka appeared to agree with the idea of longer hours, he explained that it’s not about pushing people to exhaustion. He said it’s about changing how we think—from wanting easy success to aiming for real achievements. He also backed Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who criticized some Indian startups for focusing on simple things like ice cream instead of more ambitious projects like artificial intelligence or clean energy.
In the past, Goenka had criticized Subrahmanyan for his comments about long work hours, saying that work-life balance is crucial. He stressed that working hard is important, but not at the cost of people’s well-being. He believes that everybody needs time to rest and enjoy their lives outside of work. -

Amit Shah’s Visits: Talks with AIADMK and Election Prep in Tamil Nadu, Bihar
New Delhi: Amit Shah, India’s Union Home Minister, is visiting Tamil Nadu this month to talk with leaders of the AIADMK party. He will also go to Bihar, where elections are coming up later this year, and to West Bengal, which will have elections in 2026. Although Shah’s visit to Tamil Nadu is not officially related to discussions about an alliance, it’s likely that he will meet senior AIADMK leaders as the state will have elections in 2026.
Earlier in March, AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami met with Shah in New Delhi, raising hopes that the BJP might join forces with the AIADMK to oppose the ruling DMK party in Tamil Nadu. There have been talks behind the scenes to see if both parties can work together again, especially since there’s a lot of resentment against the DMK among voters.
Currently, AIADMK’s state president, K. Annamalai, is expected to step down, and everyone is curious who will replace him. Annamalai’s tough approach toward the AIADMK was one big reason why their relationship with BJP weakened.
Both AIADMK and BJP leaders believe that uniting against the DMK could give them a better chance to win in the state. In 2023, the AIADMK officially left the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) after disagreements, particularly regarding statements made by Annamalai.
The NDA now includes BJP, PMK (headed by Anbumani Ramadoss), and other parties. In the last state election in 2021, the DMK won 133 out of 234 seats, while AIADMK lost many seats, ending with only 66. The BJP got 4 seats, and PMK got 5.
Amit Shah is also going to Bihar to check on party preparations for the elections. During his last visit, he met local leaders and got updates on their situation. This time, during a two-day trip, he will outline the plan for the coming elections. He will also soon visit West Bengal to energize the party’s members and discuss strategies against the ruling Trinamool Congress. Recently, BJP members raised concerns in Parliament about issues with teacher recruitment in West Bengal. -
Cambodian Journalists Fear for Their Future After U.S. Media Funding Cuts
Two Cambodian journalists, Vuthy Tha and Hour Hum, fled to Thailand for seven years to escape danger in their home country. Last year, they arrived in the United States on work visas, hoping to share truthful news back in Cambodia through Radio Free Asia (RFA). However, their jobs and ability to stay in the U.S. are now in jeopardy. This is due to President Donald Trump signing an executive order that cuts funding to the U.S. Agency for Global Media, the organization that supports RFA.
Vuthy, a single dad, feels scared that their ability to report accurate news will be taken away. Hour shares these worries, fearing they might have to return to Cambodia, where they could face serious punishment for being journalists. Both men are anxious about how they will care for their families and remain in the U.S. Cambodia has become hostile toward independent media, making it unsafe for them to go back.
Many journalists funded by the U.S. are in danger, with some even in prison. Reports show that at least 84 journalists in the U.S. could be sent back to countries where they might be arrested, tortured, or killed. Advocacy groups are urging the U.S. Congress to step in and help protect these reporters.
While some journalists are already fighting back with lawsuits, the situation remains troubling. The recent cuts to funding for U.S. media outlets have many worried that support for journalists abroad will decrease. One Vietnamese journalist, Khoa Lai, expresses fear about returning to Vietnam due to the risk that he could face imprisonment for his work.
Vuthy and Hour, who have been writing about important issues in Cambodia, are hopeful that RFA will continue to exist and provide important news. -

RJD Challenges Waqf Amendment Bill in Supreme Court: Fight for Rights!
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha and party leader Fayaz Ahmed plan to go to the Supreme Court to challenge the new Waqf Amendment Bill, which was recently approved by the President. They believe this law could seriously affect the management of Waqf properties, which are properties owned by the community. They will present their case to the Supreme Court tomorrow, as reported by ANI.
Other opposition parties, including Congress, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan, are also taking the bill to court.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav stated that if their party wins the upcoming elections in Bihar, they will discard the Waqf Act. He added that Muslims are currently being targeted, and it may soon affect Sikhs and Christians as well. Yadav claimed the government introduced the bill to distract people from serious issues like unemployment, and he assured that the BJP would not be able to enforce it in Bihar.
He criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying the Janata Dal (United) party is struggling to convince people that the bill helps Muslims, pointing out a failed press event held by the JD(U) with their Muslim leaders.
Earlier this year, there were protests in the Bihar assembly where opposition members demanded the cancellation of the bill and asked for the full implementation of the Sachar Committee recommendations to help improve the lives of Muslims in India. RJD leaders, including Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi Yadav, supported these protests led by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB). Yadav promised that they would fight until this “unfair and unconstitutional” law gets removed, referring to the headquarters of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the main organization linked with the ruling BJP.
