A man from Jagraon borrowed cars from his friends and sold them for ₹6 lakh without telling them. This man, Gurraj Singh, claimed to Rajan Vaidh, a car dealer, that the cars were stolen.
A few months ago, Gurraj told Rajan he had two cars, a Toyota Innova and a Swift Dzire, that belonged to his neighbors who wanted to sell them. Rajan trusted him and paid ₹6 lakh for the cars.
Later, Rajan was shocked when the Jagraon crime branch called him and said the cars actually belonged to two other people. They discovered that Gurraj sold the cars without asking their real owners.
Police officer ASI Satnam Singh is looking into the case. When Gurraj was called in, he promised to return the ₹6 lakh to Rajan but hasn’t done so yet. An FIR has been filed against Gurraj under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code, and police are working to find him.

Disagreements in Maharashtra’s Mahayuti After Assembly Election Victory
On Sunday, there was some disagreement within the Mahayuti, the alliance of political parties in Maharashtra, about who should lead them after their big win in the assembly elections. The Mahayuti includes the BJP, Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Together, they won 230 out of 288 seats in the assembly: BJP got 132 seats, Shiv Sena got 57, and NCP got 41.
Shiv Sena MLA Gulabrao Patil claimed that if Ajit Pawar’s NCP hadn’t joined their group, the Shiv Sena would have won even more seats—around 90 to 100. Patil is unhappy about NCP being in the government, saying Shinde didn’t question their presence.
NCP spokesperson Amol Mitkari replied by telling Patil to be careful with his words, suggesting Patil might not get a ministerial position this time around.
Another Shiv Sena MLA, Sanjay Gaikwad, who barely won his election by just 841 votes, criticized his fellow party members for not supporting him and questioned some leaders for talking to candidates from rival groups.
BJP leader Raosaheb Danve commented that if the Shiv Sena hadn’t split from the BJP and had stayed allies, they would have won even more seats.
Looking ahead, the Mahayuti still hasn’t announced who the new chief minister will be, but a ceremony is scheduled for December 5, with hopes that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend. Speculation is also building regarding what role Eknath Shinde will play in the new government.

They ignore the common person because they despise them. We are fighting against this hatred. To win this fight, we need political power.”
He further criticized the BJP, claiming they talk about doing the right thing but often act unethically. “They steal your votes using EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines) and have manipulated elections in places like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, and Manipur. They also take your elected governments and your pensions. We need fair elections; don’t let them steal your votes!” Kharge alleged that some election processes were suspicious, claiming there were reports of over 1,000 votes being counted in just one hour.
Kharge emphasized that a united country is crucial for achieving our aims. He stated, “We cannot do anything unless we are united. From Kanyakumari to Kashmir, and Bengal to Gujarat, we must work together.” He reminded everyone that the Constitution belongs to all of us. He called for a nationwide effort to protect it, saying that the achievements after independence, such as women becoming Prime Minister and other leaders, are thanks to the Constitution.
Kharge pointed out that the BJP preaches safety but does not ensure it. He said, “They claim, ‘Stay united, stay safe,’ but they do the opposite.” When asked about Congress visiting Sambhal, Kharge replied confidently, “We will go.” Regarding the frequent breaks in Parliament sessions, he explained that the government blames the opposition for disruptions. Kharge insists that many representatives want to speak, but the House is often closed early, claiming they are causing problems. He said this issue lies with the government, not the opposition. The winter session of Parliament started on November 25 and will end on December 20, but this week it was mostly interrupted because of protests by opposition members seeking discussions on important issues like violence in Manipur and Sambhal.

India’s Coal Production Hits Record High: November 2024 Growth Explained
In November this year, India made a big leap in coal production! It produced 90.62 million tonnes (MT) of coal, up from 84.52 MT last year. That’s a fantastic increase of 7.20%!
Captive and other companies contributed significantly, producing 17.13 MT in November 2024, which is a whopping 37.69% more than the 12.44 MT last November.
So far this year (from April to November), India has produced 628.03 MT of coal, an increase from 591.32 MT during the same time last year. That’s a 6.21% growth!
Coal dispatches (the coal sent out for use) also improved. In November 2024, dispatches reached 85.22 MT, compared to 82.07 MT last year—a rise of 3.85%. Dispatches from captive and other sources jumped to 16.58 MT from 13.19 MT, marking a 25.73% increase.
For the fiscal year 2024-25, so far, total dispatches reached 657.75 MT, up from 623.78 MT last year, a growth of 5.45%.
The Ministry of Coal pointed out that coal imports for blending purposes dropped to 9.79 MT this year, down from 10.70 MT last year, which is an 8.5% decline. This shows India’s commitment to becoming more self-sufficient in coal production and relying less on imports. Yet, India still needs some imports, especially for coking coal and high-grade thermal coal, which are not enough in domestic reserves. These imports are crucial for important industries like steel.

BSF Tripura’s Major Achievements: Countering Illegal Immigration & Drugs
This year, the Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura has caught a total of 675 illegal immigrants, which includes 55 Rohingya people from Myanmar. They also seized huge amounts of drugs: over 66,000 bottles of phensedyl cough syrup, more than 9,000 kg of ganja (a type of marijuana), and over 600,000 yaba tablets, which are dangerous drugs.
From January 1 to November 30, the BSF has detained 55 Rohingyas, 620 people from Bangladesh, and 260 Indians during their operations. Their main job is to keep a close eye on the 856-km long border with Bangladesh.
The BSF does a lot more than just guard the border. They fight against insurgency, protect the border’s safety, and stop cross-border crimes. They also work closely with local authorities and other security agencies to help keep the borders safe and maintain harmony with local communities.
In July, a meeting was held in Shillong, Meghalaya, where the BSF and the Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) talked about important issues to improve teamwork and support the people who live near the border.
When there was unrest in Bangladesh recently, the BSF worked with the BGB and other agencies to help Indian students and workers return home safely, providing them with all the assistance they needed.

Taipei, Taiwan: Taiwan’s Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) has spoken out against China and Russia for creating problems in the Asia-Pacific region. On Friday, they pointed out that Chinese military actions in the Taiwan Strait are causing worries. Earlier this week, China and Russia conducted joint military activities that crossed into South Korea’s air defence zone, making the situation even more serious.
On Thursday and Friday, Chinese warplanes entered Taiwan’s airspace, crossing a line that usually separates the two sides. This included 30 aircraft, 15 naval vessels, and three high-altitude balloons. The Chinese military also carried out a patrol that aimed at Taiwan, which increased tensions in a region that is already tense.
In addition, China and Russia sent a group of 11 warplanes into South Korea’s defence zone on Friday, which led South Korea to send its jets to respond. This group included five Chinese and six Russian planes, which flew over the Sea of Japan and near South Korea’s coast. According to South Korean officials, Russian planes came from the northeast, while Chinese planes entered the area near a spot called Ieodo Rock before heading north.
The MAC strongly criticized these actions, stating that they show how the Chinese Communist Party causes instability in the Taiwan Strait and the wider Asia-Pacific area. The council condemned both countries for making the region less safe and referred to their actions as careless.
