Aaliyah Kashyap and Shane Gregoire Tie the Knot in an Adorable Ceremony!”

Aaliyah Kashyap, the daughter of famous filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, got married to her long-time boyfriend Shane Gregoire in a small wedding on December 11. Her mom, Aarti Bajaj, shared some beautiful photos from their marriage registration. One special moment in a video showed Anurag helping Aaliyah adjust her dupatta, which had slipped off her head while they were doing wedding paperwork. Aaliyah wore a lovely red outfit with a matching dupatta, while Shane looked handsome in a red and white kurta.

In other pictures from the day, Aaliyah and Shane looked deeply in love, enjoying time with family and friends. Notably, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, who is a close friend of Anurag, attended the ceremony.

Fans on Instagram were quick to congratulate the newlyweds and loved the sweet moment between Aaliyah and her dad. Many comments described Anurag as “adorable” as he fixed Aaliyah’s dupatta, with one user calling it a pure “Father’s love.”

Aaliyah is a popular social media content creator and met Shane on a dating app. They dated for a while before getting engaged this year. During the wedding, Shane was seen getting emotional when he first saw Aaliyah in her bridal outfit, which led to some teasing online. However, Anurag defended his son-in-law, saying, “Shane is so sensitive and loves Aaliyah deeply. Anyone who thinks he acted that way for attention is wrong. I couldn’t have hoped for a better son-in-law.”

Indian Stock Markets Plunge: Investors Worry Ahead of Fed Decision

On Wednesday, December 18, early trading saw the Indian stock markets, Sensex and Nifty, drop due to investors pulling out money and waiting for an important decision from the US Federal Reserve about interest rates. The BSE Sensex, which tracks the top 30 companies, fell by 149.31 points to reach 80,535.14 points. The NSE Nifty, another main index, decreased by 62.9 points, settling at 24,273.10.

Among the big companies in the Sensex, Tata Motors, Power Grid, Larson & Toubro, Adani Ports, Maruti, and NTPC saw the biggest drops. In contrast, some companies like Reliance Industries, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra, Hindustan Unilever, Asian Paints, and ITC managed to gain some points.

Foreign investors sold shares worth ₹6,409.86 crore on Tuesday, as reported by Niftystat. The day before, both Sensex and Nifty fell by more than 1%, with Sensex dropping below the 81,000 points. This decline was because of a general sell-off as traders waited for the US Fed’s decision on interest rates.

The total drop was felt across all 30 major stocks in the Sensex, with Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank, JSW Steel, Tata Consultancy Services, and HDFC Bank being among the biggest losers. Stocks in the telecom, metals, and auto sectors took hard hits.

Globally, markets were not doing well either. Asian countries like South Korea, Japan, China, and Hong Kong all saw their markets fall. European markets were generally down, while the US markets showed mixed results.

Meta Fined €250M for Major Facebook Data Breach Affecting Millions

Meta, the company that runs Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, was fined over €250 million because of a data breach. This breach affected about 29 million Facebook accounts worldwide, with around 3 million of those accounts in the EU/EEA. The problem was reported by Meta back in September 2018.

The personal information that got exposed included users’ full names, email addresses, phone numbers, work locations, birth dates, religions, genders, posts, and even information about their kids. Unauthorized people took advantage of user tokens on Facebook to access this data. Though Meta fixed the issue quickly in Ireland and the US, the damage was already done.

The Irish Data Protection Commission decided to fine Meta €251 million due to this serious problem. Graham Doyle, a Deputy Commissioner, said that the breach created a big risk of misuse of people’s information. He stressed the importance of having data protection in place right from the start to keep individuals safe. The breach allowed unauthorized people to view sensitive details like users’ political or religious beliefs, which could lead to significant risks.

  • Bumrah Sets New Record for Most Wickets by an Asian Bowler in Australia!

Bumrah Sets New Record for Most Wickets by an Asian Bowler in Australia!

On Tuesday, Jasprit Bumrah broke a record set by Indian cricket legend Kapil Dev when he took two quick wickets during Australia’s second innings in the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. With these wickets, Bumrah became the Asian bowler with the most wickets in Australia—52 wickets in just 10 Test matches!

In his impressive performance, Bumrah first bowled out Usman Khawaja in the third over with a clever delivery that hit the inside edge and then knocked down the off stump. Just one over later, he took down Marnus Labuschagne with a well-placed length ball, and Rishabh Pant caught the edge behind the stumps.

Bumrah’s achievements do not stop there. He has been the best bowler in the series, capturing 21 wickets in six innings at an extraordinary average of 10.71, much better than opponents like Mitchell Starc. This makes Bumrah the sixth Indian bowler ever to take 20 or more wickets on a tour of Australia.

His total includes two five-wicket hauls—one in Perth, where he led the team in place of Rohit Sharma, and the second in Brisbane. Remarkably, Bumrah matched his wicket tally from the 2018/19 series, becoming only the second Indian bowler to achieve this milestone in Australia. Anil Kumble was the first, with 24 wickets in 2003/04 and 20 in 2007/08.

  • North East Development: Growth and Peace Under Modi Leadership”

North East Development: Growth and Peace Under Modi Leadership”

Union Minister for the Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, praised the quick growth in the North East of India, thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He talked about how much better the roads, railways, airports, and waterways have become.

In an interview, Scindia recognized that Manipur has been facing serious problems, but he said these issues have existed for 25 to 40 years, not just recently. He emphasized that both the central and state governments are committed to solving the problems while discussing with all groups involved.

The Union Minister for Communications pointed out that fighting and conflicts in the North East have decreased by about 80% over the last 10 years. He argued that it’s unfair to call the North East a conflict zone because, under Modi’s leadership, the area has never been more peaceful. More people have given up their old ways and joined the effort to build India.

Scindia shared that 16,000 kilometers of national highways have been built, which is a lot more than what was built in the last 60 years. The construction of railway tracks has also increased, going from about 6.5 kilometers a month to over 19 kilometers.

He noted that the number of airports in the North East has gone from 9 to 17 and rail connectivity is expanding. Right now, there are 19 railway projects worth nearly 88,000 crore rupees happening.

Additionally, a big semiconductor factory is coming to Assam, worth around 27,000 crores, which will be important for the region’s progress. The Minister mentioned that interest in investing in the North East is very high, with about 45,000 crores in agreements made so far.

Scindia highlighted that while India grows at around 6.5 to 7.5% each year, the North East grows even faster—by about 9.5 to 11%. Thus, the North East is becoming a vital area for India’s growth.

On the subject of development near the border with China, Scindia mentioned that the government is focusing on improving the last villages of India, making them vibrant. He stated that hundreds of ministerial visits have already taken place in the North East.

When asked about the “One Nation, One Election” proposal, Scindia explained that this idea comes from the people’s desire to have fewer elections and spend less money on them. He believes that the Prime Minister is working hard to fulfill the wishes of the country.

NASA Astronauts Delayed in Space Until Spring 2025, Christmas in Orbit!

NASA astronauts Sunita “Suni” Williams and Barry “Butch” Wilmore are still stuck on the International Space Station (ISS) much longer than they planned. They were supposed to come back to Earth after one week, but now their return has been pushed to Spring 2025—almost 10 months in space!

The astronauts launched to the ISS on June 5 in a Boeing Starliner spacecraft, which had a lot of problems after it landed back on Earth without them. Because of these problems, NASA decided it was not safe for Suni and Butch to return in the Starliner. Thankfully, Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX, stepped in to help. They changed plans to let Suni and Butch use seats on a Crew Dragon capsule for a ride back home.

Originally, they were expected to return in February, but now it’s delayed to late March or even early April because SpaceX needs more time to get the capsule ready. Instead of rushing, NASA chose to keep Williams and Wilmore in space a bit longer to ensure everything goes smoothly.

While they wait, the astronauts are getting into the holiday spirit! After celebrating Thanksgiving on the ISS, they’re preparing for a fun Christmas in space. They plan to connect with their families through video calls before the big celebration.

Exide Industries Invests ₹100 Crores in Energy Solutions – Key Insights

Exide Industries, a well-known battery maker, is making headlines this Wednesday because it put in a big investment of ₹100 crores (which is about $12 million) in its fully owned company, Exide Energy Solutions Ltd (EESL). They did this by buying 2.77 crore new shares (that’s 27.7 million shares) in a special offer.

The company stated that on December 17, 2024, they invested ₹99,99,99,972 (which is almost ₹100 crores) to buy more shares in EESL, raising its total investment there to ₹3,152.24 crores (around $379 million). Even after this investment, Exide still owns 100% of EESL.

EESL is busy setting up a new factory in Bengaluru to make lithium-ion battery parts. This factory will be paid for with the money from Exide’s new investment, and it will also help with other costs.

In the latest updates, Exide Industries reported a decline of 13.66% in profits for the second quarter of the financial year 2025, making ₹233.4 crores (down from ₹270.32 crores last year). However, the company’s revenue went up to ₹4,450 crores compared to ₹4,371.52 crores in the same quarter last year. • Rain Wreaks Havoc as Australia Leads India in Third Test Match

Rain Wreaks Havoc as Australia Leads India in Third Test Match

Brisbane, Australia — Travis Head helped Australia finish India’s first innings at 260 runs, giving Australia an 185-run lead on the last day of the third cricket test on Wednesday. However, more cricket wasn’t possible because of lightning and heavy rain at the Gabba.

After four days of play, India was at 252-9 in their first innings, needing to make up 193 runs. Thankfully, India scored quickly towards the end to avoid following on and let Australia bat again—if the weather allowed it.

The series is tied at 1-1, but this crucial test match turned into a rain-filled disappointment. Rain delays have caused problems, and tickets have been refunded for about 35,000 fans who attended the first day since not enough overs were played. Just 13 overs were bowled on the first day, and there were eight rain stoppages on the third day.

On Tuesday, rain kept interrupting the game. Play ended after only 58 overs were bowled that day, and Wednesday didn’t seem any better.

Unfortunately, Australia might have to play with one less bowler since Josh Hazlewood hurt his calf. He could only bowl one over before leaving the field. Hazlewood was already late to play and looked uncomfortable when he bowled.

Cricket Australia’s performance director, Ben Oliver, mentioned, “Josh was fit for this match but got a new calf injury during warm-up.” Scott Boland, who took five wickets in Adelaide, is expected to return for the test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground starting on December 26.

India won the first test by 295 runs in Perth, while Australia rebounded to take the second day-night test in Adelaide by 10 wickets.
