  • Power-Sharing Talks: Who Will Be Maharashtra’s Next Chief Minister?

Power-Sharing Talks: Who Will Be Maharashtra’s Next Chief Minister?

Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with leaders of three political parties in the Mahayuti alliance led by the BJP on Thursday night. They talked about how the power will be shared in the state’s new government. The BJP will have the Chief Minister’s position, and two deputy chief ministers are expected to be from their allies, the Shiv Sena and the NCP.

The BJP will decide who their new chief minister will be on Saturday during a meeting in Mumbai. If they pick Devendra Fadnavis, he might keep the home ministry, while the NCP is expected to get the finance ministry. The Shiv Sena may get important departments like urban development and public works.

The meeting with Amit Shah lasted for two hours. They also discussed how cabinet positions will be divided based on how many seats each party won. The BJP is likely to take 22 out of 43 cabinet positions, while the Shiv Sena and NCP are expected to receive 12 and 9 positions, respectively.

Both the Shiv Sena and NCP want at least one spot in the central government. The NCP is keen on having Praful Patel as part of the Modi government.

Eknath Shinde, who is the current caretaker chief minister, might give up his position as deputy chief minister for his son, Shrikant Shinde. It seems he would rather serve in the Union Cabinet instead, allowing him to focus on growing his party ahead of upcoming civic elections in Mumbai.

Sena spokesperson Sanjay Shirsat mentioned that Eknath Shinde prefers to give good roles to his workers instead of taking the deputy CM job himself.

There’s talk in political circles that the BJP may surprise everyone with its choice of chief minister, considering comments from ex-BJP chief, Chandrakant Patil, who hinted at “experiments” with leadership.

Earlier, the BJP’s general secretary Vinod Tawde also met with Amit Shah to discuss the state’s caste makeup and the importance of having a Maratha chief minister, especially due to community protests for reservations.

The BJP plans to send observers to Mumbai to hear opinions from MLAs on the chief minister role. They are expected to arrive on Saturday, with the new government likely to be sworn in by Monday or Tuesday.

Ajit Pawar from the NCP assured there was no fighting over cabinet posts and that decisions would be made in a friendly environment. He and other NCP leaders discussed their demands before being prompted to meet with Amit Shah.

Finally, Eknath Shinde plans a state tour next week to connect with the community and support the ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana,’ which helps women in Maharashtra

  • Adani Green Energy Delays Solar Power Supply to Andhra Pradesh

Adani Green Energy Delays Solar Power Supply to Andhra Pradesh

Adani Green Energy has been in the news recently due to problems with its solar power project in Andhra Pradesh. This project was supposed to deliver a total of 3,000 megawatts (MW) of energy starting in September 2024, but two months after the agreed date, it has yet to supply any power.

Now, the company expects to deliver just 1,000 MW by April 2025, which is seven months later than planned. This change means that instead of receiving 6,000 MW of power by September 2025, Andhra Pradesh will only get 2,000 MW by early 2026. Despite these delays, Adani Green is selling power from the same project at a higher price on power exchanges—about 40% more than what they would sell to Andhra Pradesh.

Right now, they have completed work on just 25 MW of solar capacity, but it’s performing well. The company claims that the hold-up in delivering power is due to issues with the electricity transmission lines managed by the Central Transmission Utility of India Ltd. They have the permission to sell extra power while waiting to begin supplying under their original plan.

Adani alerted the state government in September that they would not meet the initial deadlines. Experts have explained that sometimes the necessary transmission lines aren’t ready, which affects how reliably the company can supply electricity. Adani assures everyone that they are committed to meeting their new deadlines for providing energy to Andhra Pradesh.

Putin Talks About Trump: A Shocking Election and Concerns for Safety

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently praised U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, calling him smart and experienced. However, he shared concerns over Trump’s safety, especially after two serious attempts on his life.

In July, Trump was hurt in a shooting in Pennsylvania. Later, in September, a man faced charges for trying to shoot Trump while he was at a golf course in Florida. Speaking in Kazakhstan after a meeting, Putin expressed his disbelief about how the U.S. election turned out. He criticized the harsh ways some people fought against Trump during the campaign, including the assassination attempts.

Putin mentioned he felt bad for Trump’s family, who faced a lot of unfair criticism from opponents. He said such behavior was shocking, stating even criminals in Russia wouldn’t go that far.

Also, Putin commented on the Biden administration’s support for Ukraine in the war, suggesting it might either help or hurt Trump’s situation. But he was hopeful that Trump would find a way to handle things, adding that Moscow is open to talking.

  • India Tests K-4 Missile from New Submarine, Strengthening Defense

India Tests K-4 Missile from New Submarine, Strengthening Defense

India’s Awesome Missile Test from New Submarine. In an exciting update, India tested its new K-4 missile from the INS Arighaat submarine on Wednesday. This special submarine can carry nuclear missiles and has a range of 3,500 kilometers! This powerful test shows that India’s defenses are stronger, especially with China having a bigger navy.

The K-4 missile was launched near Visakhapatnam in the Bay of Bengal. Before this, the K-4 had only been tested from platforms above water. India is now one of only six countries with submarines that can launch nuclear missiles, joining the ranks of the US, Russia, China, France, and the UK.

The INS Arighaat, India’s second nuclear-powered submarine, joined the navy earlier this year. Its older sister, INS Arihant, can only carry shorter-range K-15 missiles, which can hit targets only 750 kilometers away. With K-4 missiles, INS Arighaat can strike much farther away, which helps India’s military strategy.

    India’s Nuclear Strength Explained Simply

India’s nuclear power comes from three parts: missiles on land, planes in the air, and submarines in the sea. Right now, the sea part isn’t as strong, but with the new K-4 missiles, that’s about to change!

India has many good land missiles, like Prithvi and Agni, and aircraft like Sukhoi-30 and Rafale that can drop nuclear bombs. But having strong submarines is important too because they are harder for enemies to find.

These submarines play a key role in India’s ability to strike back if attacked since they can hide underwater and have a high chance of surviving any surprise attack. This provides a promise of “Mutual Assured Destruction” or MAD, which keeps nuclear risks in check.

India is also building more submarines. The next one, called INS Aridhaman, will be even bigger and will carry more K-4 missiles. There are plans for submarines that can carry even more powerful missiles in the future.

    What About Other Countries?

China has more advanced submarines that can travel even farther, making it a tough competitor for India. They have six submarines with long-range missiles called JL-3. The US has even more submarines with advanced abilities compared to India.

As India builds and tests new submarines and missiles, it hopes to improve its strength against China’s expanding navy

  • Maharashtra Government Update: Amit Shah’s Key Meetings in New Delhi

Maharashtra Government Update: Amit Shah’s Key Meetings in New Delhi

On Thursday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will meet with Maharashtra’s caretaker Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in New Delhi. They will discuss forming a new government and who will be the next chief minister.

Ajit Pawar announced that the three leaders will gather to talk about selecting the chief minister and appointing two deputy chief ministers. This meeting comes after Eknath Shinde promised Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he would support the BJP’s choice for the next CM.

Shinde’s statement was made after his Shiv Sena party urged him to continue as the chief minister, especially since the ruling alliance won a significant victory under his leadership. Now, it seems that BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis might take over as the new chief minister.

In a press conference, Shinde said that he is ready to accept whatever decision is made about the next CM. “I called PM Modi and Amit Shah and told them to pick whoever they think is best,” Shinde said. He emphasized, “Our Shiv Sena will support the BJP’s choice without any problems.”

Ajit Pawar mentioned that the new chief minister will likely be sworn in around November 30 or December 1, and there will be two deputy chief ministers in the new government.

When asked if he was upset about not continuing as CM, Shinde said there is no anger. “We have worked together as a team,” he assured, adding, “For me, being chief minister isn’t everything; I am here to serve the people.”

In the recent assembly elections, the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance made a strong comeback, winning 230 out of 288 seats. The BJP secured 132 seats, more than any other party. Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar’s NCP also performed well, winning 57 and 41 seats, respectively. Meanwhile, the Congress-led opposition faced a big loss, securing only 16 seats

  • Akhilesh Yadav’s Powerful Response to Sambhal Violence

Akhilesh Yadav’s Powerful Response to Sambhal Violence

Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, spoke out on Wednesday against the Uttar Pradesh government’s plan to make protesters pay for damages caused during the recent violence in Sambhal. He suggested that the government should also share photos of BJP supporters who were shouting slogans during the incident.

The violence in Sambhal happened on Sunday, leading to the deaths of four people. It started because of a survey of an old mosque, which some say replaced a Hindu temple.

Yadav claimed that the BJP has a habit of pressuring officials to win elections and said this incident was staged to distract people. He criticized the BJP for not following the country’s Constitution, accusing them of using unfair methods to gain votes. He said that if EVMs (voting machines) were examined closely, it would show irregularities.

He also called on the Supreme Court to look into claims that Uttar Pradesh police coerced the families of the violence victims. According to Yadav, police threatened them and made them sign blank papers, which is illegal. He urged the Supreme Court to take action against those responsible.

So far, police have filed seven FIRs, with four of them from the families of the deceased. They arrested a total of 27 people, including three women and three minors. The police also named SP MP Zia Ur Rehman Barq as someone who allegedly fueled the violence. Barq claimed the police were trying to cover up their mistakes by blaming him.

He stood firm, saying he would always voice the needs and rights of his people to get them the justice they deserve

Supreme Court Suggests Petitioners Approach Government for Sanatan Board

A group called the ‘Sanatan Hindu Sewa Sangh Trust’ asked the Supreme Court to make a special board to protect their religion, ‘sanatan dharm.’ They believe that their community is being attacked by followers of other religions. The court, led by Chief Justice Manmohan, said it couldn’t make this decision because it’s about government policy. The judges advised the petitioners to take their request directly to the government. The court explained that they don’t have the power to create a trust as asked. They closed the petition but allowed the group to approach the government for help.
