A young Indian tech worker shared his bad experience during a job interview for a full-stack developer position on Reddit. He had a year of experience and started the interview by discussing his past work and accomplishments. The interviewer, who was a senior executive, told him to “stay humble” and act like a beginner. When he didn’t answer one of the questions correctly, the interviewer insulted him, saying things like, “You are a disgrace to software development,” and accused him of just copying code from ChatGPT.
The young worker felt really upset, especially since he changed his weekend plans for this interview. He wondered if he really was a developer. When others on Reddit heard his story, they got very angry and shared their own experiences. One said they had been insulted during their interviews too, while another suggested he should have walked out when the interviewer was rude. Many agreed that such behavior shows a toxic work environment.
