A serious car accident happened in Vadodara, Gujarat, early on Friday. A car driven by a young man hit several scooters, leading to the death of a woman named Hemali Patel and injuring four others.
The driver, Rakshit Chaurasia, is a 23-year-old law student from Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, who studies at Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara. He may have been driving fast and could have been drunk at the time of the accident. Some people who saw the crash told the police he appeared intoxicated and shouted, “Another round!” when he got out of the car after the accident. Eyewitness videos capture him making these comments, and the police are taking this evidence seriously.
After the crash, his friend Pranshu Chauhan, who was sitting with him in the car, also faced questions from the police. The car belongs to a company run by Pranshu’s father. CCTV footage showed how the speeding car hit two scooters and caused a terrible scene.
The police are investigating the situation and are waiting for medical tests to confirm if Rakshit was driving under the influence of alcohol.
