UP Police Arrests Gang Leader in Shocking Celebrity Kidnap Case

The Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested Lavi Pal, the leader of a gang that kidnapped actor Mushtaq Khan and comedian Sunil Pal. Lavi, known by another name, Rahul Saini, was caught in Bijnor after a shootout with the police, where he got hurt. He is now in the hospital for his injuries.

According to police, Lavi tricked Sunil Pal into coming to an event on December 2, then held him for almost a day before asking for a ransom of ₹8 lakhs (800,000 rupees) to let him go. Sarita, Sunil’s wife, immediately reported the kidnapping to the police in Mumbai, who then transferred the case for local investigation.

Sunil Pal publicly thanked the UP Police and state leaders for their quick action. Mushtaq Khan, popular for his role in the film “Welcome,” was also kidnapped in a similar manner on November 20. It was his manager who reported the incident after Mushtaq escaped from the kidnapper’s house in Bijnor.

Police revealed that the gang used the same method on both celebrities. They even tracked Lavi Pal and found him along with an accomplice, Shubham. When police tried to capture them on December 22-23, Lavi shot at the officers, which led to a confrontation where he got injured.

The police recovered a homemade gun and some cash linked to the ransom payments. They plan to apply strict laws against him to prevent further crimes, and are continuing to investigate other possible victims from the entertainment industry.

In Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav spoke at a Rudrabhishek program and shared an exciting idea. During his speech in Jarrapur village, Yadav expressed pride in India’s growing respect around the world. He mentioned his commitment to support saints by offering them a permanent space in Ujjain for building Dharamshalas (places for religious gatherings) and other facilities for religious use. He also announced that the government would give “legal permission” for these projects.

Earlier, Yadav performed a ceremony to start the construction of an IT Park in Ujjain valued at Rs 46 crores, showcasing the government’s dedication to encourage technological and industrial growth. Justice Narasimha Advocates for Integrity in India’s Constitutional Institutions”

In a recent speech in Bengaluru, Justice P. S. Narasimha from the Supreme Court of India emphasized the need to protect the country’s constitutional institutions from outside influences, particularly those driven by political motives.

Justice Narasimha was speaking at a special event honoring Justice E. S. Venkataramiah, the 19th Chief Justice of India. Justice Venkataramiah played a significant role in shaping India’s legal system and authored many important judgments during his time.

During his talk, Justice Narasimha stressed that the integrity of our institutions can only be upheld if we have strong safeguards in how we appoint, make decisions, and remove those who lead these institutions. He highlighted the importance of the topic titled “Reimagining Constitutional Institutions: Integrity, Efficiency, and Accountability.”

He explained the role of “Fourth Branch Institutions,” which include the Election Commission and other vital bodies that help maintain accountability in governance. He reflected on how our Constitution-makers wisely established an independent body, the Election Commission, to manage elections instead of leaving it to the executive branch.

Justice Narasimha admired the foresight of those who created the Constitution, noting that it is not just a legal document but a tool for social change. He pointed out that our government has three main branches: the executive, the legislature, and the judiciary, yet more institutions are needed to ensure accountability amongst them.

He stressed that citizens should feel empowered to ask questions about their government. He praised the Information Commissions established under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, which help make the government accountable and transparent by allowing citizens access to information.

Justice Narasimha concluded by saying that we often overlook the importance of integrity institutions. He called for a serious conversation about how these institutions work and how we can improve them in today’s digital world, ensuring they are effective in our evolving society.

Manipur Tragedy: NCW Demands Action After Six Brutally Murdered

Guwahati: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has asked the Manipur government for a detailed report within 10 days about the tragic deaths of six people, including three women and three children, last month. The NCW received a complaint from the Republican Party of India (Athawale) about the violent incident that took place in Jiribam, Manipur. On November 11, 2024, these six individuals were kidnapped and murdered in a very shocking manner. The NCW expressed deep concern and stated that such violent acts are very disturbing and require immediate action. They said, “As the main body working to protect women’s rights in the country, we are here to help ensure justice for the victims’ families and prevent such violence from going unpunished.” The Commission urged the State Government to prioritize actions to handle this serious issue and protect the rights and safety of women and children. Recently, there has been unrest in Jiribam after the bodies of the six victims were found. In gun battles, around 10 armed militants were killed, and two CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) personnel were injured. Kuki groups claimed that the deceased were village volunteers, not militants. Security advisor Kuldiep Singh mentioned that 258 people, including militants, have lost their lives since the violence began on May 3 last year. The conflict between non-tribal Meiteis and tribal Kuki-Zo groups started after a ‘Tribal Solidarity March’ opposed the Meitei community’s request for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status.

On Friday, Chaudhary attended a meeting where he asked for financial help of over ₹1.50 lakh crore for Bihar’s overall development.
