On Sunday, the 32nd Hanteo Music Awards continued with amazing performances and big wins! K-pop groups SEVENTEEN and (G)I-DLE stood out, winning the top prizes. Jun Jin Young, best known from Netflix’s “Sweet Home,” and (G)I-DLE’s Miyeon were the main hosts at Jangchung Arena in Seoul.

The event featured lots of talented artists, with EVNNE, Lee Seung Yoon, Choi Yena, HYB, RIIZE, LIGHTSUM, 8TURN, and many more performing for fans.

The annual event, which can be watched for free online at the Niftystat website, also celebrated RM from BTS, who won the Hip-Hop Award for his great work on the album “Right Place, Wrong Person.” He was praised as a fantastic storyteller through his music.

SEVENTEEN won Best Album for “SPILL THE FEELS” while (G)I-DLE took home Best Song for “Fate.” Along with aespa and TOMORROW X TOGETHER, they made a total of four Grand Prizes this year!

Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has revealed that streaming Season 4 of Shark Tank India only on their platform, SonyLIV, has brought in a lot more viewers and interaction. This latest season started on January 6 and has shown impressive results, with Connected TV (CTV) viewers up by 40% and user engagement by 22%, compared to the last season aired on Sony Entertainment Television (SET).

CTV is becoming a major way for people to watch shows, with a report predicting that by the end of this year, India will have over 65 million homes using CTV. SonyLIV also shared that overall engagement has risen by 27%, and the show has nearly doubled its user base in 42 smaller cities.

Danish Khan, the Business Head of Sony LIV & Studio Next, said that this season’s switch to SonyLIV has exceeded all their goals in reach and impact. But it’s not just about the numbers; it’s about the brave and diverse entrepreneurs showcasing amazing ideas that change the way we think about business. The fourth season has gained major sponsors like Acko, PokerBaazi, and Swiggy Instamart, along with Adani and Jaguar. Other partners include Rayzon Solar, ICICI Direct, Lenskart, and Sofy. SPNI has been producing this popular global business show since 2021, when they got the rights to adapt it for India. Stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi had his shows in Lucknow canceled by the police because of worries about safety and respect for women. The cancellation came after a letter from the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission. They asked the police to stop his shows to avoid comments that might offend women.

Vicky Kaushal’s new movie, “Chhaava,” has become a big hit in Bollywood, earning over ₹100 crore (about $12 million) globally in just two days! The film, which is a historical action movie about the brave Maratha ruler Sambhaji Maharaj, made ₹68 crore (around $8 million) in India alone. The Boycott “Laila” Drama
Before the film’s release, actor Prudhvi Raj made political comments that upset many people. This caused a “Boycott Laila” trend on Twitter. Even though Prudhvi apologized, fans of the YSR Congress Party still pushed for the film to be boycotted.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has called YouTuber Elvish Yadav to explain some hurtful comments he made about actor Chum Darang. This happened after Elvish made fun of Chum’s name and her background during a podcast. His jokes did not sit well with many people.

He said, “Karanveer must have had COVID if he likes Chum. Who has such bad taste? Her name is even inappropriate, and she appeared in a movie called Gangubai Kathiawadi.”

Many were angry about his comments on social media. The Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) wrote to the NCW, saying that Elvish’s words were not just offensive to Chum but to all women from Northeast India. They demanded strict action against him.

When people criticized Elvish, he defended himself by saying he didn’t think he was being racist. He checked his remarks and decided to remove the part that upset people, as he doesn’t want any negativity.
