Priyanka Chopra’s Journey: From Bollywood Star to Film Producer!

Priyanka Chopra started her own movie production company called Purple Pebble Pictures in 2015, just before she became famous worldwide with her role in the TV show “Quantico.” On a podcast called Something Bigger Show, Priyanka’s mom, Madhu Chopra, shared that this company was actually a backup plan for Priyanka.

Madhu said, “When Priyanka got the chance to work in America, I told her, ‘You’re at the top of your career in India. Are you sure you want to start over in the U.S.? Let’s have something here for you to rely on, so you won’t be worried if things don’t go as planned.’ That’s how we came up with Purple Pebble Pictures. It was more like our Plan B.”

However, when Priyanka became successful in Hollywood, her company also grew. Madhu added, “She thinks in a different way. Our production house focuses only on regional films. Priyanka wanted to use her success to help others. She always gives chances to newcomers in every film, whether they are writers, directors, or actors. Since she had a tough journey, she wants to help others too.”

    About Purple Pebble Pictures:

The company started with a Bhojpuri movie called “Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi” in 2016. Their next film, “Ventilator,” won three National Awards. In 2018, a first-time director, Paakhi Tyrewala, made a Nepali film called “Pahuna: The Little Visitors” with Priyanka’s help. In 2019, her Marathi film “Paani” won a National Film Award for the Best Film on Environment Conservation. Priyanka has also made films in Punjabi, Assamese, and English.

Priyanka acted in her own produced movies like “The Sky Is Pink” and “The White Tiger.” Her most recent project was an English film titled “Born Hungry,” released earlier this year.

  • Bulgari Shifts Focus to India as China’s Luxury Market Declines

Bulgari Shifts Focus to India as China’s Luxury Market Declines

Bulgari, the famous Italian brand known for luxury jewelry, watches, and perfumes, is setting its sights on India for growth. The company’s CEO, Jean Christophe Babin, shared in an interview that as demand in China declines, India presents a big opportunity.

Recently, Bulgari launched its first online store in India with Tata CLiQ Luxury. Babin believes India is a strong market for luxury goods, especially compared to other regions facing challenges. He noted that China’s luxury market has matured, leading to slower growth as the economy faces issues like a real estate crisis.

Luxury brands, including Bulgari, are looking to countries outside China to continue expanding their businesses. This strategy, called “China+1,” is gaining popularity among global companies trying to diversify after difficulties caused by COVID-19 and geopolitical issues.

Many luxury companies, like LVMH (which owns Bulgari), have seen sales drop in China due to economic struggles. Reports indicate that discounts on luxury items have reached up to 50% as Chinese consumers are now more cautious with their spending. Even well-known brands are feeling the impact, with billions lost in market value.

While the luxury market in China is declining, India is experiencing an upswing in luxury demand. The wealthy class in India continues to grow, with a new billionaire added every five days. This trend is also spreading to smaller cities where people are becoming more affluent and willing to spend on luxury goods.

According to reports, the number of wealthy individuals in India is increasing rapidly, and many global luxury brands are now focusing on India as a main market. As luxury demand rises in India, it offers a promising future for brands like Bulgari.

Allegations Unravel: Asit Modi’s Controversial Behavior on Taarak Mehta

There have been serious accusations against Asit Kumarr Modi, the producer of the popular show “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.” First, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who used to play the character of Female Jethalal, accused him of sexual harassment. She claimed that Asit made unwanted advances toward her multiple times and even tried to stop her from leaving the set. Jennifer shared a scary story from March 2019 when they were in Singapore for a shoot. Asit complimented her in a way that made her uncomfortable, saying her lips were “worth kissing” and inviting her to his room. She said her colleagues had to step in to help her and keep him away.

Jennifer also mentioned that when she was pregnant, they fired her from the show despite her wanting to stay and suggesting new story ideas. Moreover, she faced issues with unpaid salaries where her pay was cut for half days even after informing them in advance.

Monika Bhadoriya, who played Bawri on the show from 2013 to 2019, also spoke out about Asit’s bad behavior on set, describing it as “gundagardi” or bullying. She said Asit calls himself “God” and made her sign a contract to silence her. She, along with other actors like Raj Anadkat and Gurucharan Singh, mentioned that they are still waiting for their unpaid salaries.

Shailesh Lodha, another former actor, quit the show nearly a year ago and is still fighting with Asit over unpaid money. Shailesh mentioned that he didn’t chase Asit for a role, as he was already a well-known poet before joining the show. Although Shailesh shared a poem that many thought was a jab at Asit, he prefers to keep quiet about the ongoing case.

Abhishek Bachchan recently made a funny comment that has caught a lot of attention: “Married men should always listen to their wives!” This advice went viral just when rumors were swirling about his marriage to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan facing some trouble.

At a recent event, Abhishek was asked how he manages to give such great performances in his films. He simply replied that it’s not just him; he does what the directors tell him, works quietly, and then goes home. When the host joked that this sounded like a husband obeying his wife, Abhishek laughed and said, “Yes! All married men need to do that. Just do what your wife says!”

This humorous remark comes at a time when people are speculating that Abhishek and Aishwarya may be having some issues in their marriage. The gossip got louder when the couple attended Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s wedding but didn’t pose for pictures together. Recently, Aishwarya shared photos from her daughter Aaradhya’s birthday party but didn’t include Abhishek or any other members of the Bachchan family. Observers on social media noted that both Aishwarya and Abhishek were seen without their wedding rings.

Adding to the buzz, none of the Bachchan family members posted birthday wishes for Aishwarya when she turned 51. Although Abhishek dismissed the divorce rumors, Aishwarya has remained quiet. Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek’s father, also touched on the situation through his blog. He asked the media to stop spreading rumors about his family. He said, “I don’t talk much about my family because we value our privacy. Speculation is just that—speculation. They should verify their claims before spreading them. I appreciate the work of journalists, but rumors can be harmful.”

  • Pran: The Villain Who Became India’s Highest-Paid Actor!

Pran: The Villain Who Became India’s Highest-Paid Actor!

In the world of movies, heroes usually get the spotlight. They are featured on posters and billboards, and that’s why they often get paid the most. However, back in the 1970s, during a time when Amitabh Bachchan was super famous, there was a villain who became the highest-paid actor in India. His name was Pran Kishan Sikand, simply known as Pran.

    Who was Pran?

Pran was born in 1920 and was known as one of the greatest villains in Bollywood. He started acting as a hero in Punjabi and Hindi films in the 1940s. But by the late 1940s, he switched to playing bad guys. From then until the 1980s, he became famous for his villainous roles in films like Ram Aur Shyam, Madhumati, and Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai.

    Pran Takes the Spotlight

In the late 1960s, Pran’s face became common on movie posters, and his presence in films was showcased in advertisements. This fame allowed him to increase his fees. Between 1968 and 1982, he charged several lakhs for each movie, often more than famous heroes like Dharmendra and even Amitabh Bachchan. For some time, Pran was the highest-paid actor in India until Amitabh raised his fees in the early 1980s.

    Switching Roles

Even though he played villains, Pran did try out different kinds of characters. He played good guys and roles with shades of grey, like in the movies Zanjeer and Amar Akbar Anthony. By the 70s, his good roles became very popular too.

    The Power of the Name

During his peak as a villain in the 50s and 60s, many people were scared of his character. It became so bad that some parents chose not to name their children ‘Pran’ because they worried it would bring bad luck!

Pran continued to act in smaller roles through the 80s and 90s before he stopped acting after a heart attack in 1998. He appeared in a few guest roles after 2000. Sadly, he passed away in 2013 at the age of 93.
