Trisha Krishnan is officially joining Suriya in RJ Balaji’s new movie! The director shared this exciting news while celebrating Trisha’s 22 years in the film industry. Fans were overjoyed to see Trisha and Suriya together again after almost 20 years.

Balaji wrote on social media, “Congratulations on 22 amazing years, @trishtrashers! We can’t wait to kick off the 23rd year with #Suriya45.” The production company, Dream Warrior Pictures, even posted a fun video of Suriya and Balaji celebrating Trisha’s achievement with a cake on set. In the video, Trisha mentioned how it feels like “one full circle” and said it’s an “honor” to work with Suriya again.

Although we don’t know what role she will play yet, some leaked photos suggest that Trisha and Suriya might be playing lawyers in the film. They previously acted together in the movie Mounam Pesiyadhe in 2002 and again in Aaru in 2005. The two were also part of the 2004 film Aaytha Ezhuthu, but they weren’t a couple in that one. Suriya also made a small appearance in Trisha’s 2010 film Manmadan Ambu.

Trisha started her acting journey with Mounam Pesiyadhe, which was released on December 13, 2002. She celebrated 22 years in cinema with a heartfelt post on Instagram, thanking everyone and saying she feels “honored to be part of this magic called cinema.”

The highly anticipated sequel Pushpa 2: The Rule has become a major success across India. Made with a budget of Rs 400-500 crore, the film has already earned over Rs 750 crore in just nine days! The Hindi version has been especially popular, making up 60.1% of the total earnings, which is about Rs 453 crore.

Ramesh Bala, a film industry expert from Chennai, believes this film is a big deal for southern movies making waves in northern India, saying that a film crossing Rs 100 crore in Hindi is a clear sign of its success. He compares Pushpa 2 to another hit, K.G.F: Chapter 2, which also met fans’ expectations.

The movie is shown in over 6000 screens across India and about 2000 screens abroad. Ameya Naik, the head of Fantasy Films, mentions that the film connects strongly with audiences in smaller cities and rural areas. It has powerful themes like fighting against unfairness, family values, and overcoming tough situations.

More than 90% of movie showings in non-southern states are for Pushpa 2. High ticket prices have also helped boost its earnings. Experts believe the film could collect between Rs 1100-1200 crore because it has very little competition for the next eleven days.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently shared photos from his daughter Aaliyah Kashyap’s wedding to her long-time boyfriend, Shane Gregoire. Allu Arjun, a popular actor, was arrested on Friday but was released from Chanchalguda Jail on Saturday morning. The Telangana High Court gave him temporary bail for four weeks. His family and friends have been visiting his home in Jubilee Hills to support him.
