  • 5 Common Mistakes to Avoid for SSC CGL Success

5 Common Mistakes to Avoid for SSC CGL Success

The SSC CGL Exam, organized by the Staff Selection Commission, is one of the toughest tests for those who want a job in the government. Every year, thousands of students try to get into prestigious government positions. However, because of fierce competition, many don’t succeed. To do well on the SSC CGL Exam in 2025, it’s crucial not just to study hard but also to avoid common mistakes. Let’s look at five big mistakes you should steer clear of:

    1. Ignoring the Exam Pattern and Syllabus: Many students forget to check the latest exam pattern and syllabus. The SSC exam has several parts called tiers, and each one requires different skills. If you don’t know what each paper covers, you might waste time on topics that aren’t even important. For instance, Tier 1 focuses on puzzles in Reasoning, Indian history, and Science in General Awareness, and the number system in Quantitative Aptitude. If you spend too much time on tough math problems that are not included, you’ll just end up frustrated. Always check the past years’ questions and practice a lot!

    2. Being Inconsistent with Your Study Schedule: At the start, many students are super excited but then lose interest. It’s important to make a study plan that you can actually stick to. Break your goals into smaller tasks and follow them. Remember to take breaks too; resting is key to staying sharp and focused.

    3. Trying to Prepare for Multiple Exams Together: Many candidates think they can study for different government exams at once, like the IBPS, SBI, and RRB. This is a mistake! Each exam is different and needs its own special study plan. For example, the SSC exam requires a lot of focus on math and general knowledge, while banking exams focus more on data interpretation. Concentrate on one exam at a time to do your best.

    4. Rushing Through Questions and Instructions: In the exam room, students often rush to finish quickly and fail to read questions properly. For example, a question might ask, “Find the incorrect statement,” but if you read it wrong, you might look for the correct one instead! Take your time to read and understand each question carefully before answering.

    5. Not Keeping Up with SSC Updates: Another mistake students make is not checking official SSC notifications. Missing updates can mean losing important information about exam dates or changes in the syllabus. For example, if a section suddenly has more weightage and you didn’t know, you might not do as well as you could. Always check the official SSC website or trusted apps for the latest info!

By avoiding these common mistakes, you’ll be better prepared to crush the SSC CGL 2025 exam and move one step closer to your dream job in public service!

  • Uttarakhand Opens Its First Modern Madrasa for General Education

Uttarakhand Opens Its First Modern Madrasa for General Education

The Uttarakhand Waqf Board has opened a new, modern madrasa called the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Modern Madrasa in Dehradun. This madrasa will provide students with a mix of general education and religious studies, starting in March. It was built with around ₹50 lakh and is located in the Muslim Colony near the railway station.

This madrasa is different from around 10 others in the area. It has nice classrooms, furniture, computers, and smart boards. Students from nearby madrasas will come here for better education. The board wants to upgrade 8 to 10 madrasas in the state by the end of this year, merging smaller ones into a central one with better facilities. This way, they can manage things more easily and use empty land to earn more money.

Students will study from the NCERT syllabus in the morning, which includes subjects like science and math. In the evenings, they will learn religious topics, including the Quran and teachings of Prophet Muhammad, or even stories from Lord Ram, depending on what they choose. The chairman wants to create a fair and beautiful India where all kids have equal chances to learn and succeed.

The Waqf Board will provide free education, uniforms, and books. For the first time, an ex-soldier will be hired as a physical education teacher to keep students healthy and teach them patriotism. They will also hire teachers for Sanskrit classes.

Out of 419 madrasas registered in Uttarakhand, the Waqf Board currently runs 117. They believe having fewer madrasas with high-quality education is better. Some people in the Muslim community want the Waqf Board to call these schools “schools” instead of “madrasas.” Discussions are taking place with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to bring all madrasas under the Waqf Board’s management for more uniformity.

  • NIT Rourkela Innovates with New Cobalt-Free Battery Technology

NIT Rourkela Innovates with New Cobalt-Free Battery Technology

Researchers at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NIT Rourkela) have created a new type of material for the batteries that power our smartphones, laptops, and electric cars. This new material replaces cobalt, a metal that’s expensive and hard to find, with cheaper and more environmentally friendly options like magnesium and nickel.

Dr. Partha Saha, who led the team of researchers, said their new battery materials allow for better movement of lithium, which helps the battery work better overall. This means the batteries will last longer, hold more energy, and stay stable over time. After 100 charge and discharge cycles, their new batteries still kept 74.3% of their energy, which is much better than traditional batteries made with cobalt.

Cobalt has many problems, including its high cost, unreliable supply from countries like Cuba and Madagascar, and serious concerns about how it affects the environment. The team at NIT Rourkela’s innovation could change the future of batteries, making them cleaner and more affordable.

This exciting research was made possible with help from the Department of Science and Technology and involved the Department of Physics and Astronomy at NIT Rourkela. For more details, check their official website
