CSK’s Struggles: Tiwary Critiques Dhoni and Ashwin After Fifth Loss

Manoj Tiwary criticized Chennai Super Kings (CSK) spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni for their plans against Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Sunil Narine. In a recent match, Narine hit Ashwin hard, scoring 44 runs off just 18 balls, even though CSK struggled to reach 103 runs, their lowest score ever at home. Ashwin, who cost CSK INR 9.75 crore, has not performed well, allowing too many runs and taking only five wickets with a high economy rate.

Tiwary pointed out that Ashwin’s strategy against Narine was poor. He said, “Why don’t they rethink their plans? Ashwin bowled differently today than before, making it too easy for Narine. With someone as experienced as Dhoni behind the stumps, I’m surprised they didn’t come up with a better plan.”

KKR chased down the small target in just 10.1 overs, with Narine hitting five sixes. CSK now faces tough times as this was their fifth loss in a row. Tiwary also expressed that if CSK doesn’t change its approach, things will only get worse, mentioning that their Purple Cap winner, Noor Ahmad, didn’t bowl until the eighth over, despite taking a wicket on his first ball.

Dust Storm Causes Delhi Airport Chaos: Over 200 Flights Delayed

After strong dust storms and high winds hit Delhi, there was a big mess at the airport. More than 200 flights were delayed, and about 50 had to land somewhere else. The average wait time was around one hour. Officials from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and airport staff were present to help passengers with their problems.

A senior official said, “After the dust storm, many flights were canceled or redirected, causing long waits for passengers at the airport. The diverted flights took time to get to Delhi, leading to a crowded airport.”

Passengers complained that airline employees didn’t have clear answers about the delays. One traveler, Dr. HY Desai, shared their frustration about their flight, AI 2512, which was supposed to leave at 7:30 PM on April 11, 2025. “We waited all night with no updates. They didn’t even provide basic needs like food and water for families and children,” they wrote. They felt that the airport security didn’t help either and just sided with the airline staff instead of addressing the passengers’ complaints.

As of 6:53 AM on April 12, 2025, flight AI 2512 still hadn’t left the airport. Delhi faced a sudden change in weather on Friday evening, prompting the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue an orange alert, indicating that bad weather might last until Saturday evening.

  • Nagaland Police Launch Probe Into IAS Officer’s Harassment Allegations

Nagaland Police Launch Probe Into IAS Officer’s Harassment Allegations

Kohima, Nagaland – The Nagaland Police have started an investigation into serious complaints made by women workers against a high-ranking government officer. These women, who work for the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), say that the officer, who is from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), harassed them both physically and mentally.

The issue came to light after Nginyeih Konyak, the head of the Nagaland State Women Commission, wrote to the police on March 17. This was based on information she received from Abu Metha, who oversees IDAN, on February 27. After collecting many statements from the women on March 5, it was revealed that the officer was allegedly asking for sexual favors in exchange for better pay and job opportunities.

Even though the officer has denied these claims, the seriousness of the situation led to a police investigation. On March 3, the IDAN chairperson sent a formal letter about the complaints to the women’s commission. The police began a preliminary inquiry after receiving these documents.

On March 25, a female Deputy Superintendent of Police was assigned to look into the case. By April 1, she found evidence that supported the women’s claims, leading to a formal police report on April 2. A Special Investigation Team, led by a senior police officer, was established on April 5 to explore the matter further.

In 2021, this same IAS officer faced accusations of molesting two minor domestic workers while he was the Deputy Commissioner of Noklak. A legal case was filed earlier for those allegations, highlighting ongoing concerns about his conduct.

Glenn Phillips Injured: A Setback for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025

The Gujarat Titans have some tough news: New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips will miss the remaining matches of IPL 2025 because of a groin injury. He got hurt during a game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 6.

In the sixth over of the match while fielding, Glenn chased after the ball and appears to have strained his groin when throwing it back. He immediately signaled for the team’s doctor and left the field. Fans know Glenn for his amazing athletic skills. The Titans bought him for Rs 1.5 crore during the big player auction.

After the injury, Glenn will return to New Zealand. He is the second player from the Gujarat Titans to leave; Kagiso Rabada had to go back to South Africa because of a personal issue. There’s no news yet on when Glenn might come back to the team.

The Titans are scheduled to face Lucknow Super Giants on Saturday. With Glenn gone, they now have only five overseas players left in their squad: Jos Buttler, Sherfane Rutherford, Rashid Khan, Gerald Coetzee, and Karim Janat. In the IPL, each team can have up to eight foreign players, but only four can play in a match.

Despite this setback, the 2022 champions are doing well in the tournament. They currently sit at the top of the IPL points table with four wins and eight points from five games. The only match they lost was the very first game against Punjab Kings.

  • Chennai Super Kings’ Struggles Continue: Dhoni’s Leadership Not Enough

Chennai Super Kings’ Struggles Continue: Dhoni’s Leadership Not Enough

In New Delhi, even the great Mahendra Singh Dhoni couldn’t help Chennai Super Kings stop their losing streak. On Friday, they lost their fifth game in a row in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Dhoni, who used to lead Chennai to five IPL titles, returned as captain after Ruturaj Gaikwad got hurt and cannot play for the rest of the season.

Unfortunately, the change in captain didn’t help. Chennai was crushed by Kolkata Knight Riders, losing by eight wickets. They batted first but only scored 103 runs, their lowest score at home ever. Kolkata easily chased down the target with almost 10 overs left.

Chennai’s openers, Rachin Ravindra and Devon Conway, didn’t take advantage of the early overs, and it showed that the middle order lacked power. After the loss, Dhoni mentioned, “Our openers aren’t the kind to hit big right away. It’s important not to panic when the score is low. Just a couple of boundaries can help keep the run rate going.”

Chennai is now at the bottom of the league, making it hard for them to qualify for the playoffs. But batting coach Mike Hussey is still hopeful. “This loss hurts a lot, but we’re not giving up,” Hussey told reporters. “In a long tournament like the IPL, getting momentum is key. Right now, we don’t have it, but things can change quickly.”
