Broadcom Surges to $1 Trillion Valuation on AI Chip Demand!

Broadcom Inc., a company that makes chips for many technology businesses, including Apple, reached a market value of $1 trillion for the first time last Friday. This happened after the company forecasted a big increase in demand for its artificial intelligence (AI) chips. Broadcom expects sales of its AI products to jump by 65% in the first three months of this year, which is much higher than its overall growth in chips of 10%.

By the year 2027, Broadcom believes that the market for AI components it designs could reach $90 billion. Broadcom’s stock price rose by 24% to $224.80, marking its biggest one-day price increase since 2009.

Similar to Nvidia, Broadcom is becoming a key player in the growing AI market. CEO Hock Tan announced that the company secured two big new customers that run huge data centers. Investors have been excited about Broadcom’s stock this year, attracted by the potential of AI.

The company is based in Palo Alto, California, and it predicts it will make over $10 billion from AI products, even more than from other types of business. Last year, this number was about $12.2 billion. The demand for AI chips has surged, growing by 220% in the past year.

Broadcom says it expects total sales to be $14.6 billion this quarter, matching predictions. The company reported that its profit was $1.42 per share in the last quarter, with nearly $14.1 billion in revenue.

Data centers rely on Broadcom’s custom-designed chips for their AI systems. The company also sells components for cars, smartphones, and internet devices. Recently, it has expanded into software, offering products for cyber security and data center management.

In the last quarter, Broadcom’s chips earned $8.23 billion, which was a 12% increase. Software sales surprisingly grew nearly 200% to $5.82 billion. Broadcom has become much larger since 2023, partly because it bought VMware for around $69 billion.

Apple is Broadcom’s top client, as the company provides parts for iPhones. However, reports suggest that Apple will start using its own chip instead of Broadcom’s next year, which could also affect Qualcomm. Yet, Tan confirmed that Broadcom will remain closely linked with Apple for future projects and is open to more acquisitions.

Delhi Braces for Cold Wave: Shelter Homes Provide Warmth and Support

As a cold wave swept across Delhi, many people sought warmth in shelter homes as temperatures fell to the low single digits. In areas like Jama Masjid and near AIIMS, you could see individuals wrapped in thick blankets, trying to cope with the biting cold.

Ved Pal, who manages the shelter near AIIMS, reported that over 40 people used the shelter on Saturday night. “This is a family shelter, and we provide proper beds and as many blankets as needed. We serve food twice a day and tea with rusk in the morning,” he shared. If anyone feels unwell, a doctor visits, or they are taken to nearby AIIMS for treatment. “We keep basic medicines like paracetamol ready,” he added.

In another shelter, Somu Malhotra explained, “We have both families and single people here. Our place has proper beds and medicine. We also offer tea and rusk, and for medical help, AIIMS is close by.”

Roshan Kumar, at the shelter near Jama Masjid, spoke highly of the support from the Delhi government. “There are about four shelters here, with capacity ranging from 30 to 100 people. We receive three meals daily and have all necessary medical support.”

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for ‘cold wave to severe cold wave’ conditions across parts of North India, including Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. IMD scientist Soma Sen Roy mentioned that temperatures could drop by 1-2 degrees Celsius due to strong winds. The minimum temperature recorded on December 14 was 8 degrees Celsius, and today’s forecast expects it to fall to around 7 degrees.

Jim Carrey Talks Retirement: Will He Continue Acting After Sonic 3?

Jim Carrey, the famous actor known for his roles in comedies, has talked more about his retirement plans while promoting his new movie, Sonic the Hedgehog 3. During earlier promotions for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, he said he might retire, but he has now clarified that he’s not so sure. Jim explained, “You can’t be definite about these things. If a fantastic idea comes along or I get to work with people I really like, I might change my mind.”

In 2022, Jim mentioned in an interview that he felt like retiring, but he would reconsider if he got a really special script. He said, “If the angels bring a script written in gold ink, telling me it’s important, I’d think about continuing.”

Jim is open to returning to his roles as the Grinch or in a sequel to The Mask, showing he’s still interested in acting if the right opportunity comes.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will be released in U.S. theaters on December 20, where Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles will face a new character called Shadow the Hedgehog, teaming up with the villain Dr. Robotnik. When asked about his retirement comments during a London premiere, Jim said, “That might have been hyperbole,” meaning he may have exaggerated.

Ashwagandha: Experts Address Western Bans at World Ayurveda Congress”

At the 10th World Ayurveda Congress in Dehradun, experts gathered to talk about Ashwagandha, a popular herb in Ayurveda that helps with many health problems. They believe that the bans and strict rules on Ashwagandha imposed by some Western countries are driven by politics and money. For instance, Denmark has completely banned Ashwagandha, while other countries in Europe and the United States have placed heavy restrictions on it, including forcing companies to warn about alleged serious side effects.

In India, Ashwagandha is made from the root of the plant, but companies in Western nations are using the leaves to create food supplements that claim to boost energy. The experts agreed that Ashwagandha has been safe to use for thousands of years, with plenty of research proving its safety.

Ayurveda practitioners, teachers, and industry professionals at the event emphasized the importance of evidence in traditional medicine. They pointed out that misunderstandings about Ayurveda make it harder for people abroad to accept it. To improve this, they suggested that more clinical trials should be done on new Ayurvedic treatments. The results of these trials should be shared widely in journals and online platforms. Additionally, Ayurveda practitioners should work on better documenting their cases and sharing their experiences on educational websites like Ayurveda Clinical e-Learning (AyurCeL)

Pushpa 2: Record Box Office Success + Allu Arjun’s Legal Troubles”

Allu Arjun’s movie, “Pushpa 2: The Rule,” is still smashing box office records even as he faces some trouble. The film, starring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, has made over ₹820 crore in India after just ten days!

According to Niftystat, the movie made around ₹60 crore on its second Friday, bringing the total to about ₹822.20 crore in India. It had an incredible opening week, making ₹725.8 crore in total. On its opening day alone, it earned ₹164.25 crore!

The film did experience some ups and downs in earnings. After a strong start, it made ₹93.8 crore on its first Friday, then bounced back over the weekend with ₹119.25 crore on Saturday and ₹141.05 crore on Sunday. The following week saw collections of ₹64.45 crore, ₹51.55 crore, ₹43.35 crore, and ₹37.45 crore, and on the second Friday, it brought in ₹36.4 crore.

Unfortunately, Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 due to a tragic incident where a fan died during the film’s premiere at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. His arrest happened because police filed a report against him and the theatre management. He was released on bail the next day after the Telangana High Court stepped in.

After getting out, Arjun spoke to the media, saying he feels sorry for the family of the fan and wants to help them. He clarified that he was inside the theatre with his family when the unfortunate event occurred outside. He emphasized that it was an accident with no direct connection to him. He noted that he has been attending movie premieres at that theatre for years without any issues and that this incident was truly unfortunate.

Many celebrities have supported Allu Arjun on social media and visited him personally during this tough time.

  • Han Duck-Soo Takes Over as Acting President of South Korea

Han Duck-Soo Takes Over as Acting President of South Korea

This Saturday, Han Duck-Soo became South Korea’s acting President after the impeachment of Yoon Suk Yeol due to his attempt to declare a short martial law. In his first speech, Han promised to make sure that there would be no gaps in the government and that his team would work hard to keep the trust of important allies, especially the United States and Japan.

So, who is this Han Duck-Soo?

Han is a 75-year-old expert who has worked in the government for over thirty years and has experience helping both conservative and liberal leaders. He has had many important jobs, like being the finance minister and even the ambassador to the OECD. He was crucial in signing the U.S.-South Korea Free Trade Agreement because he speaks English very well and helped the U.S. Congress agree to it.

Notably, Han was also on the board of S-Oil, a major oil company connected to Saudi Aramco. Former President Yoon praised Han for his abilities, saying he was chosen for his skills and not because of any political ties.

However, Han is also under scrutiny. Investigators looking into former President Yoon are checking Han’s involvement in the recent martial law issues. Some experts believe Han’s time as acting president may be affected by these investigations.

Han will lead the country until the Constitutional Court decides whether to officially remove Yoon or let him remain in power. If the court removes Yoon, a new presidential election will have to happen within 60 days.

  • Russia Cuts Military in Syria, Yet Keeps Key Bases Amid Uncertainty”

Russia Cuts Military in Syria, Yet Keeps Key Bases Amid Uncertainty”

Russia is reducing its military presence in northern Syria, especially in the Alawite Mountains, but it will keep its main bases, according to four Syrian officials who spoke to Reuters. The future of these bases—Hmeimim airbase in Latakia and Tartous naval facility—is uncertain after President Bashar al-Assad’s fall. Satellite images show large cargo planes at Hmeimim, suggesting they were preparing to load equipment. One plane flew out to Libya.

Sources indicate that Russia is pulling back troops from the front lines and removing some heavy equipment and high-ranking Syrian military personnel. However, Russia has no plans to leave its key bases. Equipment and senior officers are returning to Moscow, but for now, the goal is to reposition forces as necessary.

According to a senior official with the new Syrian administration, discussions about the Russian military’s role in Syria will happen in the future, and the Syrian people will have the final say. The Kremlin said it is talking to the new Syrian rulers about the bases.

Since the cold war, Russia has supported Syria, recognizing its independence and establishing ties against Western influence. The Tartous naval base is crucial for Russia, serving as its only Mediterranean resupply hub, while Hmeimim supports military operations around Africa.

Experts believe cargo planes are traveling from Syria to Libya. A convoy of Russian military vehicles was seen traveling between Hmeimim and Tartous. Reports show Russian soldiers still active at Hmeimim, with jets present in the hangars. Citizens like Ali Halloum from Latakia express a desire for no foreign intervention, whether from Russia, Iran, or others. Recent satellite images confirmed activity in Russia’s Mediterranean fleet near Tartous.

Along with Akhil, other family members like his brother Naga Chaitanya, step-cousin Rana Daggubati, and step-uncle Venkatesh also stopped by to support Allu Arjun.

When Akhil arrived at Arjun’s house in Jubilee Hills, he immediately embraced him tightly and said, “Sorry brother.” Allu Arjun, however, responded with a cheerful “Congratulations,” as Akhil just got engaged to Zainab Ravdjee. They talked for a while, and before leaving, Akhil told him, “We are all proud of you, take care brother.”

Earlier that day, Chaitanya and Rana visited as well to stand by Arjun. Venkatesh dropped by in the evening. Many other celebrities, including Vijay Deverakonda and Sudheer Babu, also came to show their support for Allu Arjun. Vijay mentioned he was “100%” with Arjun during this tough time. Other stars like Ram Gopal Varma, Rashmika Mandanna, and Sreeleela also expressed their empathy.

Allu Arjun was taken by the Chikadapally police last Friday and had to go to court, where he was put on a 14-day remand. He later appealed to the Telangana High Court to dismiss the charges against him and was granted 4-week interim bail. This incident happened after his visit to the premiere of “Pushpa 2: The Rule” at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, where a chaotic situation led to a tragic stampede that resulted in a woman’s death and left her young son in critical condition
