Thousands Attend Gangasagar Mela: A Festival of Faith and Safety

On Makar Sankranti, thousands of pilgrims took a holy dip at Gangasagar in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district. Gangasagar is where the Hooghly river meets the Bay of Bengal. Like every year, many devotees came to Gangasagar to bathe in the water and join the Gangasagar Mela, one of the biggest religious fairs in India.

The fair is a special event filled with devotion, where sadhus (holy men) and pilgrims come together. People took their holy bath and prayed at the Kapil Muni Ashram, all while being watched over by tight security. The best time for the ‘Shahi Snan’ (royal bath) began at 6:58 AM and went on for 24 hours.

To keep everyone safe, around 13,000 police officers, 2,500 civil defense volunteers, and teams like the NDRF and Navy divers were on duty at Gangasagar. The event was also monitored by 24 drone cameras and 1,150 CCTV cameras, all controlled from a high-tech center using advanced GPS technology from ISRO.

Local officials said that out of 853 lost persons in the Mela area, 803 were found. Sadly, three people have died at the Mela, including two from Uttar Pradesh.

The state government set up a big control room to watch different parts of the festival. Every vehicle, boat, and bus was tracked live. Special wristbands were given to elderly people and children so that if they got separated from their families, their mobile numbers could be accessed quickly by scanning the bands.

The West Bengal government created strong safety plans for Sagar Island. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wants the Gangasagar Mela to be recognized as a national event. This year, the Mela happened at the same time as the Maha Kumbh in Uttar Pradesh

  • SEBI Proposes Mandatory Electronic Shares for Investors

SEBI Proposes Mandatory Electronic Shares for Investors

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) wants to change the rules so that companies must issue securities only in electronic format (demat form) when they split or combine their shares. This move is aimed at getting more people to use digital forms of securities, making it easier and safer for everyone.

If someone wants to buy these shares but does not have a demat account, the company will have to open one for them where the shares can be stored until they set up their own account. This plan is part of SEBI’s effort to make the process more efficient and user-friendly.

Recently, SEBI posted a paper asking for public suggestions on this idea. They want to hear what people think before making any changes.

  • Eddie Griffin Claims LA Wildfires Hide Dark Secrets – What You Need to Know!

Eddie Griffin Claims LA Wildfires Hide Dark Secrets – What You Need to Know!

Comedian Eddie Griffin is causing a lot of talk with his surprising claims about the wildfires in Los Angeles. He suggests that the fires might be a cover-up for hiding a secret child abuse ring involving people in Hollywood. His comments have upset many people.

In a recent video on YouTube, Griffin said that some people believe these wildfires are helping to hide evidence of this terrible crime. He stated, “LA is on fire, and people are saying it’s to cover up the paedophile trail. All of a sudden, the water isn’t working.” He also mentioned, “Let’s pray for those out there. If they’re paedophiles, I don’t care if their houses burn down. They deserve it.”

Griffin pointed fingers at The Wonderful Company, which he claims controls 60 percent of Los Angeles’s water, suggesting they are part of the conspiracy. He accused them of being linked to wealthy people who own other businesses like Fiji Water.

He said, “The regulators who let them control the water need to be fired. This is public water; taxpayers helped create it!” Griffin encouraged viewers to look up which rich neighborhoods were empty before the fires, saying they might have known something was coming.

He also noted that the way the current fires are burning looks similar to the fires that happened in Maui. He made a joke about gang colors but stressed that everyone should be cautious. Griffin even claimed that Los Angeles had let many firefighters go just months before the fires started.

He believes the government is behind it all, wanting to clear out homes to build a “smart city” in the future. In his view, these tragic events are not random; he calls them “unnatural disasters,” showing he thinks there’s a deeper connection to them.
