77th Indian Army Day: Spectacular Celebrations and ‘Gaurav Gatha’ in Pune

Every year on January 15, India celebrates Army Day to honor its soldiers. This year marks the 77th Army Day, and the celebrations in Pune promise to be extra special. A fantastic light and sound show named ‘Gaurav Gatha’ will be showcased, telling the story of Indian warfare from ancient times to the modern era. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will attend this exciting event.

The ‘Gaurav Gatha’ show will use lasers and multimedia technology to bring to life various themes inspired by famous Indian stories, like the Ramayana and Mahabharata, as well as modern battles. It will happen at the Bhagat Pavilion in the Bombay Engineers Group camp in Pune, part of the Southern Command of the Indian Army.

Before the show, a parade with the theme ‘Samarth Bharat, Saksham Sena’ (Strong India, Capable Army) will take place for the first time in Pune. The parade will feature a band from the Nepal Army, an all-girls marching group from the National Cadet Corps, and even robotic mules.

The ‘Gaurav Gatha’ event will last about 35 minutes, celebrating heroes like Lord Ram, the Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji, and freedom fighters like Mangal Pandey and Bhagat Singh. The themes of the show will include ‘Prachin Ranniti’ (Ancient Strategies), ‘Yudh Kala’ (Art of War), and ‘Shaurya Gatha’ (Tales of Bravery).

Before the main event, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will meet with brave women and veterans over tea and unveil a new app. He will also lay the foundation for an Army Paralympic Node online.

A Brief History of Indian Army Day

It started in 1949 when the command of the Indian Army moved from a British officer, General Sir Francis Butcher, to an Indian officer, Lieutenant General KM Cariappa. This day not only honors the bravery of Indian soldiers but also marks India’s transition from colonial rule to independence.

Lieutenant General KM Cariappa, from Karnataka, was the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Army and one of only two Field Marshals in India, alongside Sam Manekshaw

  • Dixon Technologies: Emkay’s Buy Rating Sparks Huge Growth Potential

Dixon Technologies: Emkay’s Buy Rating Sparks Huge Growth Potential

On January 15, Dixon Technologies could attract attention from investors. A well-known brokerage firm called Emkay has started covering the stock and given it a ‘buy’ rating with a target price of Rs 20,000. This means they believe the stock can grow by 22%.

Emkay praised Dixon Technologies for its strong growth potential. They highlighted that Dixon leads in many products and is expanding into new areas, which is a big advantage. The company is also improving its profit margins by making more of its own products, allowing for more sales and even international sales.

One exciting area for Dixon is the industrial PCB and auto electronics market, which is projected to be huge — around Rs 4 lakh crore by FY35E. Emkay thinks Dixon can capture a significant share of the smartphone assembly market, potentially increasing its market share from 25% to about 44% within a few years, with current market prices underestimating this growth.

In terms of financials, Emkay expects Dixon to see a 20% increase in sales and a 40% increase in earnings per share from FY25E to FY35E. Their earnings estimates for FY27E are 17% higher than what others expect right now.

Emkay believes that Dixon’s high stock price is justified by its strong future prospects, with a projected value of 41 times its earnings by December 2026.

In the past year, Dixon Technologies’ stock price has risen by a remarkable 148.37%, while it increased by 31.15% over the last six months. On Tuesday, the stock closed at Rs 16,275.85, which is a 1.8% increase.

The overall consensus from 26 analysts is a ‘Buy’ recommendation on Dixon Technologies. Among these analysts, 11 suggest a strong buy, 4 suggest a buy, 4 say hold, and 3 recommend a sell, while there are 4 strong sells.

LA Wildfires: Residents Prepare for Renewed Fire Threat Amid Ongoing Battle

Firefighters in Los Angeles got a short break from strong winds on Tuesday as they battled two huge wildfires. The weather service warned that dangerous wind conditions would return soon. While winds were calmer in the evening, they were expected to get stronger overnight, which could help fires spread.

Residents were still on high alert and ready to evacuate if needed. Police reported around 50 arrests related to looting and other crimes, including three people caught trying to set small fires. Officials did not know what started the major fires, which have already killed at least 25 people.

Utilities shut off power to almost 90,000 homes to prevent sparks from power lines. Fire crews from nearby states and countries joined the fight against the fires. Many families prepared to stay in place, hoping to protect their homes while watching for looters.

One resident, Kaylin Johnson, felt trapped but safer at home. She and her neighbors were watering their properties to keep fires away.

The weather service declared a “Particularly Dangerous Situation,” warning that dry conditions and strong winds could cause new fires to grow rapidly. Many people were ready to evacuate at a moment’s notice.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass looked over the damaged areas. She and other officials were confident that they had better resources to handle new fires. Even though winds weren’t expected to be as strong as before, they could still ground firefighting aircraft.

Because there hasn’t been much rain lately, wildfires are happening more often. Firefighters are quick to stop small fires when they start, but the largest blazes have burned over 63 square miles altogether. Many people are still missing, and the number of people told to evacuate has decreased to about 90,000.

The wildfire crisis has also disrupted Hollywood, delaying Oscar nominations and awards

  • Gold Prices Steady as U.S. Inflation Data Approaches: What to Expect

Gold Prices Steady as U.S. Inflation Data Approaches: What to Expect

Gold prices didn’t change much on Wednesday because investors are being careful as they wait for important news about U.S. inflation. This news might help them understand what the Fed (the U.S. Federal Reserve) might do with interest rates.

    Here are the key points:
    – The price of spot gold went down by 0.1% to $2,672.93 per ounce according to the latest data. Meanwhile, U.S. gold futures went up by 0.3% to $2,689.60.
    – Investors are looking forward to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data that will be released at 1330 GMT. This data will help them guess how the Fed might change interest rates in the future. If the data shows higher inflation than expected, the Fed might not lower interest rates this year.
    – A recent survey predicted inflation would rise by 2.9% this year, slightly up from 2.7% last year, and that prices would rise by 0.3% from last month.
    – Gold prices increased on Tuesday after it was reported that the Producer Price Index (PPI) went up by 3.3% from a year ago. This news helped to lower the U.S. dollar.
    – Traders believe the Fed will keep interest rates steady in its meeting later this month.
    – With Donald Trump starting his second term next week, many are curious about his policies, which might cause inflation to go up.
    – Gold is often bought as a safeguard against inflation, but when interest rates rise, it can become less attractive.
    – The SPDR Gold Trust, which is the largest gold-backed ETF, reported that its gold holdings dropped by 0.23%, falling to 872.52 tonnes from 874.52 tonnes.
    – An expert noted that spot gold might drop to around $2,635 per ounce.
    – Spot silver fell by 0.4% to $29.78 per ounce, while palladium prices stayed the same at $938.23. Platinum prices increased by 0.3% to $937.66.

  • Washington Prepares for Trump’s Inauguration: Security and Protests Ahead

Washington Prepares for Trump’s Inauguration: Security and Protests Ahead

Washington, D.C., is getting ready for President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration next week. They are putting up 30 miles (48 km) of tall black temporary fencing and have called in 25,000 police and security officers to help keep everyone safe. Thousands of people are expected to join the celebrations and protests.

Trump’s inauguration will happen on the U.S. Capitol steps, where he will take an oath to become president. This is also where, on January 6, 2021, many of his supporters caused chaos by trying to change the results of the 2020 election.

Security experts are worried not about big group attacks but about “lone wolf” attacks. For example, someone recently ran a truck into a crowd at a New Year’s Eve celebration in New Orleans. Officials are also concerned about people trying to sneak weapons or cause fires near the Capitol.

To keep everyone safe, parts of downtown Washington will be closed off to cars, and police will be on high alert. The 7-foot-tall (2-meter-tall) fencing is meant to be very hard to climb. There will also be thousands of National Guard troops ready to help.

Even though many residents are planning to stay home, lots of visitors are coming for the big day. About 70% of hotels in Washington are already fully booked for the night of the inauguration. People’s March against Trump is expected to gather around 25,000 people, while other pro-Trump events are also happening.

Past inaugurations saw a lot of protests. In 2017, many people gathered in Washington for the Women’s March after Trump’s inauguration. This time, officials seem prepared for anything, but hopefully, the events will go smoothly.

  • Unni Mukundan Talks ‘Marco’: The Debate on Violence in Cinema

Unni Mukundan Talks ‘Marco’: The Debate on Violence in Cinema

Unni Mukundan is thrilled about the success of his new movie, “Marco,” which he made and acted in. This Malayalam film has sparked many questions about how much violence is okay in films. In an interview with Anmol Jamwal on his YouTube Channel, Unni talked about the mixed reactions to the movie. He pointed out that these reactions aren’t meant to insult the audience’s intelligence.

Unni said, “Some people find the film disturbing, but they aren’t calling it bad. They think it’s a good film that hit them hard. For example, my uncle said, ‘Whoo! That’s a lot to handle, but it’s really good!’”

He also shared, “I feel happy about how the movie is received. Going to the theater lets the audience get lost in the story, and the director can create powerful moments. Making the audience feel disturbed is also a part of entertainment. You can’t just laugh or cry the whole time. I don’t believe ‘Marco’ would do well on streaming platforms like Niftystat. Certain movies are meant for theaters because they help you forget about the real world for a while. I think it’s our job to take the audience away from reality. I trust that viewers are smart enough not to let the film’s violence influence them.”

As for “Marco,” which came out on December 20, it also features Siddique, Jagadish, Abhimanyu S Thilakan, and Kabir Duhan Singh. The movie is doing well in theaters and is being called one of the most violent Indian films ever made.

  • Trump Faces Criticism for Changing Ukraine War Resolution Timeline

Trump Faces Criticism for Changing Ukraine War Resolution Timeline

Donald Trump is getting criticized for changing a big promise he made during his campaign. He said he could end the war between Russia and Ukraine very quickly, but now it seems like that might not happen.

After he was elected, a senior adviser, retired Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, told Fox News that it will actually take a lot longer to solve the conflict. Kellogg suggested a timeline of about 100 days to work out a solution. He said, “We want to make sure the solution is strong and stops the fighting for good.”

Originally, Trump said he would end the war “within 24 hours” after taking office. However, during a recent press conference, he changed that to hoping it would be done in six months or less. Critics pointed out that this is a big change from what he promised earlier, which makes them question if he can really deliver on his promises
