RJD MP Sanjay Yadav Receives 20 Crore Extortion Call from Gangster

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) member Sanjay Yadav, who is a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, says he got a scary phone call from someone claiming to be a gangster in America. The person demanded ₹20 crore (that’s 200 million rupees) and warned Yadav of serious trouble if he didn’t pay up.

Yadav explained that the call came to his assistant’s phone first. When he spoke to the caller, the gangster used a harsh voice, said he had connections in jail, and made it clear he wanted a huge ransom. The threat didn’t stop there; the caller also said he would kidnap Yadav and even harm his children if the money wasn’t given.

The gangster claimed to know Yadav’s travel routes and that he was aware of his family details, saying, “If you want everyone’s safety, give me ₹20 crore, or else.” The caller even threatened that they could harm anyone, saying it didn’t matter if Yadav was a minister or even the Prime Minister.

After hearing these threats, Yadav reported the incident to the police, who have now opened an investigation. This shocking event has raised concerns about the safety of public figures.

Sanjay Yadav is known to be a close friend of Tejaswi Yadav, another important leader in the RJD party. He started his term in the Rajya Sabha in 2024.

The 16-member expert team reached the district and is expected to visit the village soon to help the victims. The sick people reported having fever, body pain, nausea, and loss of consciousness, often dying just days after being hospitalized.

Kangana Ranaut Talks Controversies and Her Film ‘Emergency

Kangana Ranaut is a bold actress who often speaks her mind. In a recent chat, she talked about the controversies in her career, stating that many problems started because of comments made by men. Kangana believes it’s not fair that women’s worth is often linked to the men they meet.

In her new movie, Emergency, she shares the story of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. During her research for the film, Kangana was shocked to learn that people focused on Indira’s personal relationships instead of her work as a leader. She exclaimed, “Why should a woman be defined by the men in her life? That’s just wrong.” Kangana wanted to make sure her film focused on Indira as a prime minister and her achievements and failures, rather than her private life.

Kangana added that it feels degrading for women to be judged by what men say about them. She shared her own experiences, saying a lot of the controversies surrounding her came from what men claimed about her, which overshadowed her talent as an artist.

In 2016, actress Hrithik Roshan accused Kangana of impersonating him in emails, which led to a heated dispute. A few years back, actor Adhyayan Suman, who used to date Kangana, made shocking claims about their relationship.

Kangana’s film, Emergency, has finally hit theaters after some delays. In this movie, she plays Indira Gandhi, focusing on the crucial years of her leadership, particularly the Emergency and Operation Bluestar. The film also features stars like Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, and Mahima Chaudhary, showcasing key moments of India’s history.

Umesh Yadav: Disappointed After Being Unsold in IPL 2025 Auction

Veteran Indian bowler Umesh Yadav is feeling sad after not being sold in the IPL 2025 auction that took place in November last year. The 36-year-old had played for the Gujarat Titans in 2024, where he was bought for INR 5.80 crore. Despite his impressive IPL career, which includes 148 matches and time with four different teams—Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, and Gujarat Titans—he didn’t get any bids this time.

Talking about his disappointment, Umesh said, “It’s shocking for me. I’ve been playing for 15 years. After almost 150 IPL matches, it hurts not to be chosen.” In the 2024 season, he played seven games and took eight wickets, but his high economy rate of 10 might have affected his chances in the auction.

He shared, “It depends on the franchises’ choices. My name might have come late in the auction, and they ran out of money. It’s frustrating, but I can’t change what they decided.”

Umesh had surgery on his leg after the last IPL season and is determined to return stronger. He mentioned, “As long as I can bowl at 140 km/h, I’ll keep playing. If I can’t, then I’ll quit cricket myself, no need for anyone else to tell me.” Umesh last played for India in 2023 during the World Test Championship final against Australia. While he has played in 57 Tests and taken 170 wickets, his last One Day International was in 2018.

Pope Francis Urges Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza – A Call for Peace

On Sunday, Pope Francis asked for a ceasefire in Gaza, urging everyone to respect it immediately. He thanked the mediators who helped make this truce happen and highlighted the importance of providing more humanitarian aid to people in need. “I hope all the hostages will soon be able to go home and reunite with their families,” he said.

The Pope prayed for both Israelis and Palestinians, emphasizing that they need hope now more than ever. He called on their leaders, with support from the international community, to work towards a fair solution that benefits both sides. “Let’s all say yes to dialogue, reconciliation, and peace,” he added.

  • Supreme Court Pushes UPSC for Transparency in Civil Service Exams

Supreme Court Pushes UPSC for Transparency in Civil Service Exams

The Supreme Court has brought in a special lawyer to help with a request from civil service exam hopefuls. They want the UPSC (the Union Public Service Commission) to share information such as the answer keys, cut-off scores, and the marks of everyone who takes the civil service preliminary exam. The UPSC usually keeps this information secret until all exams are finished.

A group of lawyers, led by Kapil Sibal, argued that this lack of transparency harms the candidates. They believe if the answers, cut-off scores, and individual scores are shared, students could challenge any mistakes made during scoring in a fair manner.

The Supreme Court has also asked the government and UPSC to explain why sharing this information could be difficult. The next discussion about this issue is scheduled for February 4.

In the past, there have been several similar cases, but the UPSC has never explained why it doesn’t want to be more open. The request highlights that other organizations, like state public service exams and even big universities like IIT and IIM, usually share such information.

The hopeful candidates are worried about the lack of clarity and want to know if those who got selected really scored better. They stress that all of this information helps them prepare well for future attempts at the exams. Each year, millions of students work hard to join these important public services, and this makes fairness and openness very important.
