Kharge Claims BJP MPs Assaulted Him Amid Parliamentary Clashes

There was a big fight in Parliament between members of the NDA and the INDIA bloc. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge accused BJP members of pushing him during a protest. He wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla asking for an investigation.

Kharge explained that he was part of a protest from the statue of Dr. Ambedkar to a place called Makar Dwar, where they were protesting remarks made by Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister. He claimed that when he reached Makar Dwar, BJP MPs physically pushed him, causing him to fall. This hurt his knees, which had already been operated on.

Kharge mentioned that after he fell, some Congress MPs helped him by bringing a chair, and he managed to get back to the House with their support.

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi criticized the BJP for being aggressive and threatening, saying he saw BJP members waving sticks at Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. Gogoi insists that this behavior shows how the BJP operates and called for better security near Makar Dwar.

On the other hand, the BJP claimed two of their MPs got hurt because Rahul Gandhi pushed them. Mukesh Rajput and Pratap Sarangi had to be taken to the hospital for their injuries.

The day’s chaos began when both the Opposition and the government protested in Parliament over Amit Shah’s comments about BR Ambedkar. Both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha had to be adjourned because of the loud protests from the Opposition, who wanted an apology from the Home Minister.

  • Nomura Invests in Vishal Mega Mart: A Strong Start for Shares!

Nomura Invests in Vishal Mega Mart: A Strong Start for Shares!

The Nomura India Investment Fund has recently bought a big chunk of shares in Vishal Mega Mart, which just went public. They spent Rs 324.96 crore, purchasing 3 crore shares at Rs 108.32 each on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Vishal Mega Mart’s shares hit the market on Wednesday, opening at a higher price than expected—33.3% more at Rs 104 on the NSE and 41% more at Rs 110 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). By the end of the day, the stock was up by 43.5% from the initial price.

Even though the entire sale was from existing shareholders, many investors showed interest, especially big financial institutions, who bid more than 85 times the available shares. On the other hand, ordinary retail investors were a bit cautious since the sale was entirely from existing investors.

Vishal Mega Mart aims to serve the middle and lower-middle-income groups in India, focusing on areas that lack good retail options. They offer a wide range of products at affordable prices, which helps them attract and keep customers.

Experts believe that because the market is looking better and other factors are in play, the company’s shares could rise by 20-25% from their starting price. Prashanth Tapse, a senior research analyst at Mehta Equities, suggests that cautious investors who got shares should think about selling if prices go up by 25%. Long-term investors might want to hold onto their shares despite any ups and downs in the market. Those who didn’t get shares now could consider buying them if prices fall after the initial excitement fades.

By around 11:20 AM, Vishal Mega Mart’s shares were down by 3.12%, trading at Rs 108.46 on the BSE.

Political Chaos in Parliament Over Amit Shah’s Ambedkar Remarks

A big disagreement in Parliament started after Amit Shah, India’s Home Minister, made comments about BR Ambedkar. This upset many people in the Opposition, and they protested by gathering at a place called ‘Makar Dwar’. In the commotion, two members of the ruling party, BJP, got hurt, and one of them, Mukesh Rajput, is now in serious condition at a hospital.

The trouble began when Amit Shah said that Congress leaders should focus more on God instead of just saying Ambedkar’s name. He joked that if they had mentioned God as many times, they would reach heaven. This comment angered the opposition, especially since they want Shah to apologize or even resign.

During the protest, Rahul Gandhi, a leader of the Congress party, and his sister Priyanka Gandhi joined others with signs asking for an apology from Amit Shah. Some BJP members claimed that Rahul Gandhi pushed another MP during the protest, which led to injuries. In their frustration, Congress leaders also shared videos showing their struggles to get inside Parliament.

The 38-year-old spinner explained that this decision felt right to him and came from his gut feeling. He arrived back home in Chennai and shared his thoughts.

He admitted that thinking about retiring had crossed his mind for some time, but he decided to make the announcement right after the rain-affected match at Gabba that ended in a draw. Ashwin said he first felt ready to retire on the fourth day of the match when teammates showed great fight to avoid losing badly, and he waited until the match finished on the fifth day to share the news.

  • Dipan Mehta: Market Insights and Caution for Investors

Dipan Mehta: Market Insights and Caution for Investors

Dipan Mehta, who is a Director at Elixir Equities, believes that the economy is facing some tough challenges. Right now, the stock market isn’t doing great, and this is happening because the fundamentals—like corporate earnings and GDP growth—are steadily declining. Even though there’s a lot of money to invest and many retail investors are active, it’s important to focus on the basics of the market.

Mehta feels the market is in a correction phase, meaning it might stay stagnant for a while. He suggests that it could be wise to hold about 15-20% of your investment portfolio in cash as a safety net. Recently, the market showed a surprising recovery, but that doesn’t change the underlying problems.

When asked about the pharmaceutical sector, Mehta shared that it’s been doing well because it feels safer during uncertain economic times. He recommends investing in big pharmaceutical companies, particularly Sun Pharma, which is doing well with its specialized products. Other companies to watch include Caplin Point, Lupin, and Strides.

Regarding retail, many specialized retail companies like Go Fashion and Manyavar have faced tough times recently. However, Mehta thinks that urban shopping could bounce back soon, and he’s keeping an eye on companies like IndiaMart and Affle India.

On real estate, Mehta is optimistic due to steadily growing values of properties, so he suggests investing in established companies like DLF and Oberoi Realty.

However, the cement industry is having a rough time. With low prices and slow growth, Mehta doesn’t recommend investing in this sector right now.

When it comes to future stock market predictions, Mehta expects the Nifty to reach around 26,000, though he acknowledges there will be uncertainties and market ups and downs next year. He also highlights an important event in early 2025, which could affect global markets and the economy.
