Global Interest Grows for India’s BrahMos Supersonic Missile!

Samir V Kamat, the leader of India’s Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), shared that the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile is becoming very popular around the world. Many countries want to buy this advanced missile system.

Recently, Indonesia showed interest in the BrahMos missile, along with other countries in the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Kamat mentioned that while he couldn’t share more details due to the sensitivity of the talks, he is hopeful about India’s increasing defense exports.

He believes that in the next five years, India’s defense exports could double or even triple! Current exports are expected to reach ₹26,000 crores this year, ₹30,000 crores next year, and aim for ₹50,000 crores by 2028-29. By 2035, the goal is to reach an impressive ₹1 lakh crore.

The BrahMos missile is a joint project between DRDO and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyeniya and is known as one of the fastest and most accurate weapons in the world. The Indian Army has been using the BrahMos since 2007.

Sources say that India and Indonesia are starting talks for a deal involving the BrahMos missile, and Indonesian teams will soon visit India for discussions. It’s important for this agreement to get approval from Russia too.

India has already sold the BrahMos missile to the Philippines, which made a deal worth over $335 million, and they expect more deliveries soon. Other countries like Vietnam, Malaysia, and some in the Middle East have also shown interest in this missile system, which uses many Russian parts.

  • Ranveer Allahbadia Faces Backlash Over Offensive Comments on TV Show

Ranveer Allahbadia Faces Backlash Over Offensive Comments on TV Show

Popular YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia is facing serious trouble because of some offensive comments he made on a show called “India’s Got Latent.” After videos of his remarks began to circulate online, many people became upset. Celebrities, including actor Jackky Bhagnani, spoke out against what Ranveer said.

Jackky said, “It’s really wrong… I don’t agree with it at all. I don’t support it either.” On Monday, a lawyer filed a complaint against Ranveer, along with social media influencer Apoorva Makhija, comedian Samay Raina (who hosts the show), and the organizers of “India’s Got Latent.” The complaint was made because viewers found the language used on the show inappropriate.

The situation escalated when Ranveer made a disrespectful joke on the show, which sparked outrage. The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) criticized his comments, calling them “disgraceful” and harmful to family values. They demanded that the show be banned and wanted to see action taken against those responsible. AICWA urged actors and filmmakers to stop working with anyone connected to the show.

After facing backlash, Ranveer apologized publicly through a video on his X account. He recognized that his comments were not just offensive but also not funny. Ranveer admitted that comedy is not his strong suit and said he felt bad for his poor judgement. He promised to be more careful with his words, especially considering his influence on younger fans.

In conclusion, he asked the makers of “India’s Got Latent” to take out the insensitive parts from the episode where he made the comments. He said, “All I can say in the end is sorry. I hope you can forgive me.”

  • Pope Francis Blasts Trump’s Immigration Policy: A Call for Compassion

Pope Francis Blasts Trump’s Immigration Policy: A Call for Compassion

Pope Francis shared a strong message with American Catholic leaders, criticizing President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. Earlier this year, Francis called Trump’s plan to deport millions of immigrants a “disgrace.” The Pope urged all Catholics not to follow stories that treat undocumented immigrants unfairly, emphasizing that many of them are not criminals.

In a letter to the bishops, which was surprising for its directness, the Pope described the immigration situation as a major crisis for the U.S. He said, “Building systems based on power and not respecting the dignity of every person will lead to bad results.”

Trump, a Republican, recently returned to the White House promising to send many undocumented immigrants back to their home countries. He took strong actions to increase deportations, even using military resources for this purpose and allowing immigration officers to arrest people in schools, churches, and hospitals.

While he acknowledged a country’s right to protect itself from dangerous criminals, Trump also noted that deporting people who fled their homes due to poverty, danger, or unfair treatment harms their dignity and puts entire families at risk.

Pope Francis warned that Trump’s plan for the biggest deportation campaign in U.S. history would be a serious mistake, calling it a “calamity.”

  • Can England Win the Champions Trophy After ODI Series Struggles?

Can England Win the Champions Trophy After ODI Series Struggles?

Ahmedabad: Ben Duckett, a player on England’s cricket team, said it doesn’t matter if they lose the ODI series to India 3-0, as long as they win the Champions Trophy. After losing the second match in Cuttack, he told reporters, “No one will care about this series if we win that competition.” This sounds good, but it’s easier said than done.

England has started well in their matches but then lost their momentum. They struggled against Indian bowler Ravindra Jadeja and seemed uninspired in their bowling. Indian batsmen have been scoring freely against England’s fast bowlers, and Shreyas Iyer has been ready with a plan against short balls. Besides Adil Rashid, who bowls spin well, England hasn’t challenged India much.

England’s current performance is very different from how they played under former captain Eoin Morgan. While Morgan’s team was focused on scoring a lot of runs, they could also win matches that required fewer runs. Duckett mentioned that head coach Brendon McCullum supports his players, saying, “Baz (McCullum) won’t criticize me for trying my shots.” He justified getting out while playing a big shot against Jadeja.

Sticking to what they practice is good advice, but can the whole team keep playing aggressively all the time? Maybe that’s what McCullum’s approach, called “Bazball,” is about. However, excitement about this term has faded recently. There were talks of playing a different way after losing a Test series to India last year. Since joining the white-ball team, McCullum has only pushed for fast, aggressive play.

England’s captain, Jos Buttler, noticed similar aggressive play in Indian player Rohit Sharma, who scored a lot in Cuttack. Buttler believes that playing aggressively is the right way to win games. But he didn’t mention that India has different players; Rohit took risks while others like Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli played in a more controlled way according to the game situation.

Currently, only Duckett and Joe Root in the England ODI team have averages over 40 runs. This shows that the team seems to care more about how fast they score instead of their overall runs. Often, in close matches with strong bowlers, the game isn’t just about scoring quickly like in T20 cricket.

Duckett said, “If we lose 3-0 to India, I don’t care as long as we beat them in the final of the Champions Trophy.” But not many people think England can make it to that final based on their current performance.

Three Friends Die in Butibori Driving Accident: A Tragic Story

NEW DELHI: A sad accident happened on Monday evening in Butibori town, eastern Maharashtra. A 34-year-old man named Suraj Chavan was learning to drive when he accidentally pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake. This made his car zoom straight into a nearby well.

Suraj was with his younger brother, Sajan Chavan (27), and their friend, Sandeep Chavan (27), at the time. They had come to a place called Bal Bharati Ground to help Suraj learn driving for the first time. Sadly, the car was found in the well the next morning after someone noticed it.

The police reported that the accident took place on Monday night, but it wasn’t until Tuesday morning that the car was discovered. Officers from the Butibori police pulled the vehicle out and found the three men inside. Their bodies were sent to a hospital in Nagpur for examination.

In another incident nearby, a car hit a cement block on a service road on Wardha Road. The driver, Jeevan Kondawar, lost control while making a turn and was pronounced dead at the hospital. A passenger named Saurabh Belsare was hurt and is currently receiving treatment.

Juveniles Arrested for Stabbing a 17-Year-Old in Delhi’s Seelampur

In a tragic incident in northeast Delhi’s Seelampur area, two young boys have been arrested for allegedly stabbing a 17-year-old boy to death. Police say that the attack happened on Sunday night. They received a call around 9:45 PM and rushed to Gautampuri, where they found the victim lying in a pool of blood. He had been stabbed multiple times.

The police found a knife believed to be the weapon used in the crime and are trying to catch one more person connected to the stabbing. They reviewed nearby CCTV footage and quickly arrested the two boys.

During questioning, the arrested boys told the police that they all lived in the same neighborhood. They claimed that the victim often bullied them and demanded money that they couldn’t give him. This led to the attack.

  • HSBC Highlights 5 Stocks for Growth in India’s Tough Market

HSBC Highlights 5 Stocks for Growth in India’s Tough Market

India’s stock market is facing tough times, with the Nifty 50 index down 12% from its highest point. This drop is caused by investors pulling their money out and rising U.S. bond yields affecting market mood. Despite these challenges, HSBC believes there are some promising stocks to consider. They listed five companies: Dixon Technologies, Maruti Suzuki, PB Fintech, Godrej Properties, and LTIMindtree that could do well even when the overall market struggles.

HSBC notes that the recent budget aimed at boosting spending might not be strong enough to change people’s mood about the economy. However, keeping spending in check allows the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to be less strict with interest rates. With inflation going down, the RBI has already lowered interest rates for the first time in five years. More support for the economy might come soon.

The market remains under pressure, with foreign investors selling off more than $20 billion since September. Many companies reported weak earnings in the last quarter, with 42% not meeting expectations. It’s predicted that growth will stay slow for at least two more quarters, making it tough to achieve a 15% earnings growth goal by 2025.

Despite these challenges, HSBC highlights specific companies that could succeed thanks to industry trends, solid performance, or smart strategies. These top picks include companies ready to grow through exports, benefiting from a weaker Indian Rupee, or those ready to take advantage of new government policies.

    1. Dixon Technologies: Expected to gain from government support and growing demand in mobile and IT manufacturing. This stock has gained over 132% in the past year, even though it recently fell by 12.8%—now trading at Rs. 14,568.65.

    2. Maruti Suzuki: A strong player in India’s auto market, particularly for electric vehicles. The stock has risen by nearly 19% over the last year and still offers growth potential, currently at Rs. 12,754.95.

    3. PB Fintech: Parent company of PolicyBazaar, it’s likely to grow much faster than its competitors in online insurance. Although it surged 63.7% in the past year, it recently dropped 18%, now trading at Rs. 1,525.55.

    4. Godrej Properties: With strong finances and a wide reach, it can handle slowdowns in real estate. However, it has seen a decline of 10.5% over the past year, down to Rs. 2,021.05.

    5. LTIMindtree: Set to benefit from a rebound in IT services, especially with more banking sector deals coming. The stock increased by 4.5% in the past year, trading at Rs. 5,704.75.

HSBC remains cautious about the overall market, suggesting that a real recovery will need more stable earnings and further help from the RBI. They also expect another interest rate cut in April, but warn that high stock prices might continue to decrease until growth picks up again.

  • Caruana Stuns Gukesh with Quick Victory in Freestyle Chess!

Caruana Stuns Gukesh with Quick Victory in Freestyle Chess!

In an exciting chess match, Fabio Caruana was surprised when world champion D. Gukesh gave up after only 18 moves in the second quarterfinal of the Freestyle Grand Slam tournament. Caruana, from the United States, admitted he probably wouldn’t have resigned so early. “I didn’t expect him to quit at that moment, but I also didn’t see how he could win from that position,” he said. Caruana won both of his games against Gukesh.

Before the match, Caruana felt calm because he thought he had the advantage with the white pieces. After losing the first game, Gukesh couldn’t stay in the competition against Caruana and finished the game very quickly.

Caruana explained, “The way Gukesh played was too risky. He tried to make big moves too early, which didn’t work out for him.” Now, Gukesh will compete for a chance to reach the semifinals.

The Freestyle chess format features 960 random opening positions, a creative idea from famous chess player Bobby Fischer. With new money supporting this format, it might become the future of chess.

In this match, Gukesh made a mistake early on, losing a pawn. Caruana, who has experience with this style of chess, took just 15 moves to reach a normal chess position and came out ahead by having an extra pawn. Gukesh decided not to play further and shook hands with Caruana, ending the match.
