Sunil Yadav, a drug dealer, was shot dead in California by attackers who entered his home. This murder was claimed by a gang called the Bishnoi gang, with members sharing the news on social media. They said this was revenge for the death of their friend, Ankit Bhadu, who was killed by police in 2019. Yadav was accused of informing on Bhadu, leading the police to him.

Yadav, who was also known as “Goli,” moved to the US after getting a fake passport under the name Rahul. Before that, he had been in Delhi in 2022 and was wanted by both police and other gang members from Punjab.

In a social media post, Rohit Godara and Goldy Brar took responsibility for Yadav’s death and claimed he was involved in drug trafficking in Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan. They warned other enemies to be cautious as they would find them anywhere in the world.

Yadav’s drug dealings reached places like Dubai and the US. He came from Abohar, a town in Punjab, and had avoided capture for two years. Police had even issued a notice to find him.

  • JD(S) Opposes Renaming Mysuru Road After CM Siddaramaiah

JD(S) Opposes Renaming Mysuru Road After CM Siddaramaiah

Mysuru: The Janata Dal (Secular), a political party in Karnataka, is upset about the Mysuru City Corporation’s plan to rename a road after the state’s Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah. They want to change the name of the KRS Road, which connects the city to nearby attractions, to ‘Siddaramaiah Arogya Marg’.

The JD(S) claims this decision is wrong because Siddaramaiah is accused of being involved in a corruption case called the MUDA scam, which is currently under investigation. They say he got a site illegally and is now facing trial. Since there’s no elected board in the Mysuru Metropolitan Corporation, the JD(S) believes that the officials chosen by the Congress government are naming the road after Siddaramaiah as a favor to him.

According to the JD(S), naming a road after him is not just disrespectful to Mysore, but to all of Karnataka. They think it’s unfair to honor someone with serious legal troubles.

Meanwhile, tensions have been rising between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over issues like reservation policies and land scams. Congress leader BK Hariprasad challenged BJP President BY Vijayendra about the MUDA scam and suggested that the BJP should also be examined for land deals associated with right-wing groups like the RSS.

  • China’s New VAT Law to Boost Economy Starting 2026

China’s New VAT Law to Boost Economy Starting 2026

China has approved a new law about Value-Added Tax (VAT), which will begin on January 1, 2026. This law combines previous rules and outlines what items can be exempt from this tax. VAT is the biggest source of tax income in China and made up around 38% of all national tax earnings in 2023.

The new law includes exemptions for certain agricultural products, scientific research equipment, items for people with disabilities, and services from welfare institutions like nurseries and elderly care homes. The government can also add new items to the list of things that don’t have to pay tax to help some businesses.

This new VAT law means that now 14 out of 18 tax types in China have their own laws. This shows progress in following the rules about taxation. The law was approved by China’s National People’s Congress Standing Committee.

Recently, China announced tax breaks for buying and selling homes to help the struggling real estate market. They’ve also extended a policy that allows tax refunds for research groups buying Chinese-made equipment until the end of 2027.

In 2019, China reduced the VAT rates for manufacturers and workers in transportation and construction to help businesses. However, because the economy is slowing down, VAT income dropped by 4.7% in the first 11 months of this year compared to last year, reaching 6.1 trillion yuan (about $840 billion).

Despite this, VAT revenue showed signs of recovery in November, growing by 1.36%. Experts believe this increase means businesses are starting to do better, which may help the economy strengthen even more.

  • Wall Street Gains as Tech Stocks Shine Bright This Christmas Eve

Wall Street Gains as Tech Stocks Shine Bright This Christmas Eve

On Tuesday, Wall Street’s main stock indexes went up, thanks to strong gains from huge tech companies and other big stocks. This happened during a short Christmas Eve trading session. Both the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the Nasdaq Composite gained for four days in a row, while the S&P 500 saw its winning streak hit three days, kicking off what’s known as the “Santa Claus rally.”

Earlier this month, the Dow faced a rough patch, dropping for 10 straight sessions, its longest losing streak since 1974. In a time when many investors are on holiday, the performance of big companies can greatly influence stock indexes.

On Tuesday, all the famous tech stocks known as the Magnificent Seven went up, with Tesla leading the way, jumping by 7.4%. This was Tesla’s highest one-day gain in six weeks and boosted the consumer discretionary sector by 2.6%, the highest among all sectors. All 11 sectors in the S&P ended the day with gains.

Chip makers also did well, with Broadcom climbing by 3.2%, Nvidia by 0.4%, and Arm Holdings jumping 3.9%, recovering from recent losses due to a court case.

Despite U.S. Treasury interest rates staying high (the 10-year note was around 4.61%, its highest since May), growth stocks rose. Usually, higher borrowing costs are bad for these companies. But experts believe long-term tech advancements, like improvements in artificial intelligence, outweigh short-term interest rate concerns.

On Tuesday, the S&P 500 rose by 65.97 points, about 1.10%, reaching 6,040.04 points. The Nasdaq Composite went up by 266.24 points, or 1.35%, closing at 20,031.13. The Dow Jones increased by 390.08 points, or 0.91%, finishing at 43,297.03. The stock markets closed early at 1:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday and will be closed for Christmas on Wednesday.

After a great run following November’s U.S. election, where hopes for business-friendly policies under President-elect Donald Trump were high, Wall Street faced challenges this month as investors worried about rising interest rates in 2025. While the Federal Reserve cut borrowing costs for the third time this year, they indicated only two more small cuts next year, as they consider how Trump’s policies might affect inflation.

Experts believe the reasons behind the market’s rise over the past two months are still strong, and Fed actions haven’t stopped the upward trend. Looking forward to 2025, the economic situation, consumer spending in the U.S., and the job market all look positive.

Crypto-related stocks also rose on Tuesday, with Microstrategy, Riot Platforms, and MARA Holdings increasing between 4.7% and 8.1%, as bitcoin prices also went up. New Health impressively soared by 75% after announcing plans for a $1.3 billion deal to become privately owned by its largest shareholder. American Airlines saw its shares increase by 0.6% after experiencing a rocky session when it temporarily grounded all its flights due to a technical issue.
