Maharashtra’s Exciting Future: Fadnavis Discusses Election Wins and Growth Plans

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared exciting news about the recent assembly elections. He said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) didn’t think they would win 90% of the seats they competed for. At an awards event in Mumbai, he explained, “We didn’t see this big win coming. A small increase in votes usually means a big win or a big loss. I felt confident about our victory because of the positive buzz I saw around me.”

Fadnavis thanked the people of Maharashtra for supporting the Mahayuti coalition, saying it was a huge victory and gave them the responsibility to help India’s economy grow. He dismissed rumors about the new government, saying they have been united from the start, and Eknath Shinde has always been on their side.

He mentioned that important government roles, like home and finance, will be decided soon. Fadnavis also highlighted that Maharashtra is doing great in attracting foreign investment. “This year will be a record for FDI,” he said proudly.

He called the state a business hub, saying, “We’re back and better than ever.” He talked about important projects like the new Vadhavan port that will boost India’s economy and mentioned plans for a new airport in Mumbai.

With a bridge connecting Mumbai to Navi Mumbai and plans for creating a “third Mumbai,” Fadnavis assured everyone that doing business in Maharashtra will be easy and rewarding. “This is a fantastic chance to invest and grow your business here,” he said.

Jaishankar: India Rejects BRICS Currency, Advocates for Global Diplomacy

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated that there are currently no plans to create a BRICS currency which would involve Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. This comes after former U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to impose a 100% tariff on BRICS countries if they decided to go ahead with such a currency. Jaishankar clarified, “India has never supported changing from the dollar,” emphasizing that not all BRICS countries agree on this issue.

Jaishankar is in Doha, Qatar, to attend the Doha Forum, where world leaders discuss important global challenges. During a panel discussion, he talked about how countries often have different agreements and conflicts. He noted the complexity of international relations, stating, “It’s a messy world.”

He urged for “more innovative and participative diplomacy,” especially in conflicts, like the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, which affects many countries due to rising costs of oil and food.

Jaishankar believes there’s a shift towards finding solutions through diplomacy rather than continuing conflicts. He emphasized India’s active role in talking to both Russia and Ukraine, aiming to find common ground and express the concerns of many countries affected by rising costs due to the war.

He pointed out that even major European leaders have encouraged India to keep engaging with both Russia and Ukraine to foster dialogue and understanding.

Jaishankar’s visit to Qatar includes participating in the 20th IISS Manama Dialogue in Bahrain, focusing on strengthening relationships in the region.

Alia Bhatt Takes Auto Rickshaw, Shocks Fans Amid New Movie Talks

It’s not common for Bollywood stars to use public transport instead of their fancy cars. Usually, they like to travel in chauffeur-driven vehicles because they value their privacy and comfort. But sometimes, a few stars take a break from their luxury rides and hop on rickshaws or buses, surprising their fans and onlookers.

Recently, Alia Bhatt was seen riding an auto rickshaw in Mumbai, which is a popular way to travel in the busy city. On Saturday evening, she decided to ditch her car and took an auto to get home, accompanied by her personal security. This casual choice shocked many fans who spotted her. Alia looked relaxed in a simple grey and off-white striped shirt with grey pants, and she wore a black face mask to keep a low profile. A video of her riding the auto is now going viral!

Alia has some exciting movies coming up, including ‘Alpha’, a spy thriller from YRF, and ‘Love And War’ directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Recent reports suggest she is also in talks with Dinesh Vijan about a new movie! Just a month ago, fans spotted Alia at Maddock’s office, leading to speculation about a possible film. • Samajwadi Party Exits Maha Vikas Aghadi Over Controversial Comments

Samajwadi Party Exits Maha Vikas Aghadi Over Controversial Comments

In a surprising move, the Samajwadi Party (SP) announced that it is leaving the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance in Maharashtra. This decision came after a close aide of Uddhav Thackeray, the Shiv Sena UBT leader, praised the demolition of the Babri Masjid, a mosque that was destroyed over 30 years ago.

Abu Azmi, the head of the Samajwadi Party in Maharashtra, stated on Twitter that they cannot support the communal ideas of the Shiv Sena UBT while being part of the MVA. He mentioned that the Samajwadi Party has two MLAs in the 288-member state Assembly and is ready to work on its own if necessary.

Azmi explained that the party’s decision was influenced by an advertisement from Shiv Sena UBT that celebrated the mosque’s demolition. He highlighted a social media post from an MLC of Shiv Sena UBT, Milind Narvekar, which included a quote from founder Bal Thackeray, saying he is proud of those who tore down the mosque.

Azmi further questioned the difference between the Shiv Sena UBT and the BJP if they continue to speak in such a manner.

The Babri Mosque, a building with a rich history, was demolished in 1992 by supporters of a Hindu group. The Supreme Court eventually ruled in favor of building a Ram temple at the site, allowing for a mosque to be built elsewhere.

  • Political Tensions Rise Over Lok Sabha Seat Disputes

Political Tensions Rise Over Lok Sabha Seat Disputes

A new argument has started between the Central Government and the opposition group known as INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) about where members should sit in the Lok Sabha (the lower house of Parliament). The Congress party is accusing the ruling BJP government of not sticking to the agreed plan for seating allocation.

Normally, for every 28 members of a party, they get one seat in the front row. According to insiders, the INDIA bloc was given seven front-row seats, not including seats for the Trinamool Congress (TMC), led by Mamata Banerjee. The opposition decided how to share these seats: one for the Leader of the Opposition, three for Congress, two for the Samajwadi Party (SP), and one for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).

However, later on, the government reduced the number of seats for the Samajwadi Party by one, moving their MP from Faizabad, Awadhesh Prasad, to a seat in the second row. Akhilesh Yadav from SP expressed his frustration after this change. The Congress and SP protested this decision and spoke to the concerned minister about their problem.

Moreover, senior leaders from the DMK and NCP (the Sharad Pawar faction) complained about being pushed back to the seventh row, which they felt didn’t reflect their experience or importance.

Even some members of the ruling NDA coalition were unhappy with their seats. For instance, senior TDP MP Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy expressed his disappointment about being placed in the eighth row; last time, he had a better spot in the second row.

In response, Speaker Om Birla stepped in, saying, “No member should question the seating arrangements in Parliament while in the House. If you have concerns, please discuss them privately with us.”

Some sources indicated that the Samajwadi Party was not happy with Congress for not being more forceful with the government about the seating issues. But Akhilesh Yadav responded that he wasn’t upset with Congress and hinted that the BJP was trying to create divisions within the INDIA bloc.

Before the new winter session of Parliament began, the seating plan for the 18th Lok Sabha got updated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi still hold their front-row seats—seat numbers 1 and 498, respectively. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh sits next to Modi in seat number 2, followed by Home Minister Amit Shah in seat number 3. Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, who started out in the back row, was moved to seat number 4 beside Amit Shah.

On the opposition side, Congress leader KC Venugopal sits next to Rahul Gandhi in seat number 497. New MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has a seat in the fourth row (seat number 517), while Akhilesh Yadav from Samajwadi Party sits in the front row at seat number 355. Senior Congress leaders like Manish Tewari and Shashi Tharoor are assigned to the fourth and third rows, respectively. Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress leader Sudeep Bandopadhyay has seat number 354.

Stampede at Pushpa-2 Premiere: Woman Dies, Son Hurt – Investigation Underway

Mogadampalli Bhaskar never thought that going to see the late-night movie “Pushpa-2: The Rule,” starring his favorite actor Allu Arjun, would turn tragic. It led to his wife, Revathi, losing her life and their son, Sritej, getting hurt.

This unfortunate event happened at the famous Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad late Wednesday night when many fans gathered to see Allu Arjun. The excitement turned chaotic, creating a stampede.

Bhaskar, who is 40 years old, was heartbroken as he recalled that Revathi had once saved his life by donating her liver to him in 2023. Now, he is left grieving and currently jobless while recovering from his own health issues. They went to the movie premiere because Allu Arjun was expected to be there.

During the chaos, Revathi was with Sritej, and Bhaskar had taken their other child, Sanvi, away to calm her down. In the stampede that followed when Allu Arjun arrived, Revathi tried to protect Sritej but sadly lost her life. Sritej passed out from suffocation and had to be rushed to a nearby hospital for help. Doctors say he is in critical condition. Bhaskar expressed his anger towards the theatre management, saying, “We want action taken against them. My son is a huge fan of Allu Arjun, and now we have lost his mother.”

After this tragic incident, the police filed cases against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management. The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) stated that they will take strict action against those responsible for what happened. He mentioned that the theatre did not inform the police about Allu Arjun’s presence, which caused the crowd to get out of control.

  • Mexico’s Plan to Handle U.S. Deportations Effectively

Mexico’s Plan to Handle U.S. Deportations Effectively

Mexico’s President, Claudia Sheinbaum, says she wants to make an agreement with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. This agreement would help Mexico avoid taking in people deported from countries other than Mexico, in case many people are sent back from the U.S. Trump has promised to crack down on illegal immigrants, with his running mate suggesting they might deport a million people each year.

Mexico has been important in helping the U.S. with immigration. The country has been accepting migrants from places like Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela, where it’s hard for the U.S. to send people back. The Trump team has talked about possibly sending these migrants to other countries if their home countries won’t take them back. Some options mentioned include Panama, the Bahamas, and Grenada. However, the Bahamas has already said “no” to such requests.

While it’s uncertain if Mexico will outright refuse migrants from other countries, Sheinbaum expressed her hope that an agreement can be reached with the Trump administration. “We want to send people back to their home countries,” she said. She emphasized that, while Mexico supports all people, the focus is on helping Mexicans.

Many Mexicans live in the U.S. without proper documents. Mexican officials are preparing for a large number of Mexicans being sent back to their country after Trump takes office. Sheinbaum believes these deportations are not needed and highlights the positive contributions of Mexican workers to the U.S. economy.

Meanwhile, Mexico’s Foreign Minister, Juan Ramon de la Fuente, is in the U.S. to check on immigration processes and make sure that the rights of returning Mexicans are respected.

  • U.S. Defense Secretary Cancels South Korea Visit Amid Political Turmoil

U.S. Defense Secretary Cancels South Korea Visit Amid Political Turmoil

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin has decided not to go to South Korea anymore. This comes after South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol made a big mistake trying to declare martial law this week. Two U.S. officials told Reuters about this change, saying that while plans for the visit were being made, it was decided that now was not a good time for the trip. They also mentioned that they spoke with South Korea about changing the plans.

Austin plans to leave his job by January 20, when President-elect Donald Trump takes over. President Yoon’s decision to enforce martial law earlier this week aimed to take more control, limit political activities, and control the media. This upset many people and raised worries among South Korea’s allies.

South Korea’s Defense Minister, Kim Yong-hyun, who suggested the martial law plan, has stepped down. To help his political career, Yoon accepted Kim’s resignation and has chosen Choi Byung-hyuk, the ambassador to Saudi Arabia, as the new defense minister.

The United States keeps 28,500 troops in South Korea, a leftover from the Korean War fought from 1950 to 1953. General Paul LaCamera, who leads U.S. Forces-Korea, advised American soldiers to stay alert, avoid protest areas, and inform their superiors about any travel plans in case something unexpected happens.
