Shahid Kapoor’s movie “Kabir Singh” came out in 2019 and became a huge hit, making more than ₹250 crore at the box office. People still talk about the film and its main character today. In a recent interview with Faye D’Souza, Shahid shared his thoughts on playing such a character. He said that while he doesn’t agree with many things Kabir did in the movie, there are real-life people who act like him.
Shahid explained, “It’s not just about me; it’s about who we all can be and what choices we make. Movies should show real-life situations.” He admitted he wouldn’t accept a person like Kabir in real life, but he acknowledged that some people do fall for guys like that. He believes movies can tell these stories, and it’s up to the audience to decide what they like or dislike.
In “Kabir Singh,” Shahid plays a passionate and aggressive lover, with Kiara Advani starring alongside him. The film received mixed reviews, and its director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, faced some criticism for showing toxic behavior. Despite the controversy, the movie was a big success at the box office.
Shahid was last seen in a romantic comedy called “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” where he acted with Kriti Sanon. He will soon appear in a new movie titled “Deva,” which is set to hit theaters on January 31.
