A man from Singapore was surprised when he visited a Bata store in Prague, Czech Republic. Content creator Thomas Kopankiewicz shared his experience in a video. He started by saying, “In Singapore, we think of Bata as a cheap brand. But here in Prague, they have a huge five-storey store. Let’s check this out!”
Once inside, he showed a 360-degree view of the stylish shoes and boots. He found a pair of furry boots and joked, “Even Yeezys can’t compare to these!” He also spotted leather jackets and fancy bags. While holding up some cool snake-skin sneakers, he humorously said, “Balenciaga? Who cares?”
In his video caption, he wrote, “Whoa! I didn’t know Bata could be this fancy! Is Bata now a luxury brand?” His video went viral, racking up 3.7 million views. Many viewers were shocked by his comments, especially when he called Bata a “buy-and-throw-away” brand. Indian users chimed in, saying that in India, Bata is seen as a classic and reliable shoe brand. One user said, “In India, Bata is like a legend. My shoes are older than my cat!” Others were amazed to learn that Bata started in the Czech Republic and was not an Indian brand.
