On Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma made some exciting announcements for the Rajasthan Police at a special event. He increased the money the police get for their uniforms and meals. He explained that the police uniform is not just clothing but represents their responsibility to keep us safe.
The uniform allowance for constables and assistant sub-inspectors will rise from ₹7,000 to ₹8,000. Meanwhile, the meal allowance for police officers up to the rank of inspector will go up from ₹2,400 to ₹2,700.
Sharma also mentioned that police officers from constables to inspectors can now travel for free on semi-deluxe buses, in addition to express buses, using the state transport system.
He praised the bravery and commitment of the police, saying they risk their lives every day to protect the community. “They are the true heroes,” he stated.
To make the police even better at their jobs, the government will set aside ₹200 crore to improve police facilities and equipment. Sharma promised to ensure that police personnel get timely promotions and that their concerns are heard.
He said the role of the police is not just about catching bad guys but also about creating a sense of safety in society. He encouraged the police to communicate more with the public to build trust.
Earlier in the event, Chief Minister Sharma honored fallen officers by laying a wreath at the Police Martyr Memorial. After that, he checked a parade of police personnel and gave out medals for commendable service.
