Meghan Markle’s friend, Chef Adrian Lipscombe, stood up for her after critics bashed the trailer for her new Netflix cooking show, “With Love, Meghan.” Lipscombe shared a screenshot of a negative article titled “I’m Already Bored by Meghan Markle’s New Netflix Cooking Series,” calling out the writer for being too quick to judge. Lipscombe said, “It’s not fair to criticize a show before it even airs!”
In the post, Lipscombe tagged the article’s author and expressed disappointment, saying that she used to look to Eater for thoughtful stories about food but felt let down by their harsh criticism of Meghan. Lipscombe praised Meghan as kind and genuine, sharing their conversation about families and food. She asked why the media often puts down women, especially women of color, who try to create meaningful content.
The show is set to premiere on January 15, featuring celebrities like chef Roy Choi and culinary legend Alice Waters, and aims to share Meghans’s love for cooking and her journey since leaving the royal family. Lipscombe stressed the need for more representation of Black women in the food industry and hoped that the media would be more respectful in their coverage. “We deserve better from you,” she concluded, urging the outlet to consider how their words impact others.
