Gambhir praised Rohit for taking responsibility during the series. Rohit had to sit out the last match because he wasn’t performing well, and Kohli also had a hard time, getting caught out in slips eight times. Gambhir stressed that players need to participate in domestic cricket, like the Ranji Trophy, to show they care about playing Test cricket. This statement seemed to target senior players who often skip these important local matches.
