Bilawal Bhutto, the head of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), recently questioned his own government about problems with internet service in Pakistan. In a viral video, he humorously asked, “Why do the fish in our oceans only seem to chew on Pakistan’s internet cables?” This was in reaction to the government saying that internet services were down because of broken undersea cables.

Many people on social media reacted to Bilawal’s statements. Some pointed out that he is part of the government and criticized him for blaming others while benefiting from being in power. One person wrote, “This is what we call ‘Noora Khusti’ in Pakistan. He wants the perks of being in a coalition government but also wants to make fun of it. People are not fooled anymore.” Another user reminded him of his family’s influential position, saying, “Your father is the President, and you’re a member of the assembly. Why haven’t you spoken up about internet issues before? Stop acting like you’re in opposition when you’re part of the government.”

However, a few individuals agreed with Bilawal’s funny comment and made jokes of their own. One joked, “It’s not fish but a shark—referring to the Pakistani army.” Another added, “These are just cyber attacks, and we’re blaming innocent fish!”
