UP Emergency Training Ensures Safety at Maha Kumbh Fair

The Uttar Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (UPSDMA) recently held a special training program to get ready for possible chemical and nuclear emergencies during the Maha Kumbh fair. The event was opened by Lieutenant General (Retired) Yogendra Dimri, who is the Vice President of UPSDMA.

Sharad Seth from the Department of Atomic Energy encouraged the people planning to visit the fair to enjoy themselves without fear. He emphasized that they should feel safe while taking part in this spiritual celebration.

The training was a teamwork effort from the Department of Atomic Energy and UPSDMA. It taught modern methods for dealing with disasters, how to quickly assess chemical accidents, how to perform safe rescue operations, and how to manage health emergencies. Participants saw demonstrations of advanced equipment used in such situations.

Lieutenant General Dimri explained that during a big event like the Maha Kumbh, it is essential to hold workshops to prevent and respond to nuclear and chemical accidents. Experts from the Department of Atomic Energy and other organizations shared important information on how to handle chemical leaks and radioactive emergencies.

A total of 400 people joined the training, including staff from various organizations such as the Indian Army, police, medical officers, and fire department officials. Participants from Ayodhya, Varanasi, Chitrakoot, Mathura, Mirzapur, Shravasti, and Gorakhpur also took part in this important training session.
