On Saturday, Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel sent off a special ‘water ambulance’ from Gandhinagar to help during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. The Maha Kumbh will take place from January 13 to February 26, 2025, and is a major event that brings millions of visitors from around the world to Prayagraj.
To raise awareness about food safety for this big event, a walkathon took place in Prayagraj. The Kumbh Mela is not just a festival; it’s a time for spiritual renewal and cultural sharing. People from all over India and the globe are excited about this 45-day celebration, which will highlight India’s unique culture and traditions.
Despite the chilly weather, many devotees are already arriving in the city. The most important bathing days, known as Shahi Snan (royal baths), will happen on January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami). These dates are expected to draw the largest crowds.
Recently, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the preparations. He visited the area where a temporary tent city is being built and stressed the need for timely arrangements for food and other essentials, especially considering the cold.
He also mentioned that separate areas will be set aside for men and women, and that staff should follow their scheduled shifts carefully. The Chief Minister asked that ambulance services be quick to respond in emergencies. He strongly believes that cleanliness is key, and special attention will be paid to keeping the Kumbh clean. Additionally, it’s important to support the cleaning staff, known as Swachhata Mitras, and their families during the event.
