On Friday, the FBI announced that Matthew Livelsberger, a 37-year-old soldier from Colorado, was the driver of the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas. The explosion happened on the same day as a tragic truck attack in New Orleans that killed many people. However, the FBI confirmed that there is no connection between these two events.

Officials told reporters that Livelsberger acted alone and didn’t hold any anger towards President-elect Donald Trump. They mentioned that he likely suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and may have been struggling with personal issues. Sadly, it seems this incident was a case of suicide, as Livelsberger took his own life.

Seven people sustained minor injuries due to the explosion. Eric Trump, the son of Donald Trump and part of the Trump Organization, praised the fast response of the authorities. Meanwhile, Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, has supported Trump in his presidential campaign and is an advisor to him as he prepares to return to the White House on January 20.
