Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has made headlines about his future at the club. Even though he is having an amazing season, Salah has not signed a new contract yet. In a recent match against West Ham, he scored a goal and assisted two others, helping Liverpool secure the top spot in the Premier League, sitting eight points clear.
Salah, who has scored 17 goals and provided 13 assists in 18 league games this season, will be a free agent at the end of the season. After his standout performance, he shared that contract talks are not progressing well.
“No, we are far away from that,” he told Sky Sports about signing a new contract. Salah emphasizes that his main goal is helping Liverpool win the Premier League title. “I want Liverpool to win the league, and I will do my best for the team,” he said, urging everyone to stay focused as other teams are catching up.
In addition to Salah, two other key players, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, also have contracts running out after next season. Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, spoke about not being able to control players’ private lives but appreciates what they bring to the pitch. “I have some control over what they do in training and meetings, but their personal lives are up to them,” he explained.
