In the early hours of Sunday, a fishing boat sank near Madh Koliwada in Mumbai’s Malad area after it was hit by a cargo ship. Thankfully, no one was hurt. The boat belonged to a local resident, Hemdeep Harishchandra Tipri. Another group of eight boats quickly came to help and pulled the sunken boat back to shore.
The local rescue group named Savati played a big role in the recovery, working with the Navy and Coast Guard to ensure everyone was safe. Although one sailor was rescued, all involved were unharmed. This teamwork shows how important it is for the community to look after each other.
