President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Katie Miller to be part of a new team aimed at making the government run better. This team is called the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). It will work with well-known figures like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who have great ideas about cutting down on government spending and rules.
Katie Miller is the wife of Stephen Miller, who will be Trump’s new homeland security adviser. She has worked in the first Trump administration and done important jobs like being the deputy press secretary for the Department of Homeland Security and press secretary for former Vice President Mike Pence.
Trump announced the good news on his social media platform, Truth Social, saying that Katie has always supported him and will help make the government more efficient. Musk and Ramaswamy want to reduce the number of federal agencies from over 400 to just 99 while eliminating many existing federal rules. Right now, Katie is a spokesperson for the team helping prepare Robert Kennedy Jr. to be the new Health and Human Services secretary.
