On Thursday, President Vladimir Putin told people in Russia that their military is moving closer to winning its goals in Ukraine. He mentioned that Russian soldiers are gaining control of more land every day. During his annual live call with Russians, he explained that they are advancing on the battlefield along the entire front line. “The situation is changing quickly,” he said.
According to military experts, Russian forces are making gains in eastern Ukraine faster than they have since last year. “Our soldiers are reclaiming land by the square kilometer every day,” Putin stated. However, he admitted that the fighting is tough, making it hard to predict what will happen next. “But we are working towards solving our main goals, which we set at the start of this special military operation,” he added.
When asked about the Ukrainian soldiers still in Russia’s Kursk region, Putin assured that they would eventually be pushed out, but he did not say when this would happen.
