In Manipur’s Imphal East district, police said that five bombs, called IEDs, weighing a total of 21.5 kg, were discovered on Tuesday. The police worked together with the Spear Corps, and a special dog helped find the explosives at Maphitel Ridge near Monglham. The five bombs included two that weighed 5.5 kg each, one that weighed 4 kg, and two that weighed 3.5 kg each. They also found a 25-meter long Cordtex wire used with the bombs.
In another part of the state, Kangpokpi district, security teams seized a submachine gun with ammo and a homemade mortar, known locally as ‘pumpi,’ from an area called Phaileng.
