Team India faced another difficult day at the GABBA, Brisbane, during the third Test against Australia. On Day 3, they found themselves in trouble at 51 runs with 4 players out after just 17 overs, and the game was often delayed by rain.
Pacer Mitchell Starc got things rolling by taking two quick wickets, and Josh Hazlewood took one more. India was in a tough spot at 22 runs for 3 wickets before lunch, while Australia had scored a massive 445 in their first innings.
Starc removed Yashasvi Jaiswal right away on the second ball of India’s innings. Shubman Gill followed him shortly after, caught brilliantly by Mitchell Marsh in the slips. Virat Kohli, who has struggled lately, chased a wide ball and ended up giving a catch to wicketkeeper Alex Carey.
Rishabh Pant was also dismissed cheaply, caught behind off Pat Cummins while trying to play a risky shot. KL Rahul was the last hope, batting on 33 not out, but Rohit Sharma is yet to score as he remains not out at zero.
Earlier, Australia scored 445 all out thanks to great centuries from Travis Head and Steve Smith. Wicketkeeper Alex Carey chipped in with a quick 70 runs before he was out. Jasprit Bumrah had a good day with the ball, taking 6 wickets for 76 runs.
