Mahavir Jayanti celebrates the birth of Lord Mahavir, who was born in 615 BC and given the name ‘Vardhamana’ as a baby. This year, it will be celebrated on April 10. The festival highlights the importance of Jainism, especially in India. One of the core teachings is ‘ahinsa parmo dharma,’ which means non-violence is the highest duty.
