Chief Justice of India, Sanjiv Khanna, has sent a letter to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this letter, he included a report from a special three-member team that looked into claims of cash found at the home of Allahabad High Court judge, Justice Yashwant Varma.
The Chief Justice followed proper procedures and first shared the report with Justice Varma to ensure fairness. The three-member team, which included judges from different high courts, checked evidence and talked to over 50 people. This group included important figures like the Delhi Police Chief, Sanjay Arora, and the Chief of the Delhi Fire Service. They were among the first responders to a fire at Justice Varma’s house in Delhi on March 14.
At that time, Justice Varma was a judge of the Delhi High Court.
