U.S. Stock Futures Dive as China Raises Tariffs to 84%

U.S. stock index futures dropped sharply on Wednesday after China announced new tariffs on American goods. This was China’s response to President Donald Trump’s recent tariffs. Starting Thursday, China will increase tariffs to 84% on certain U.S. products, up from the previous 34%. This news caused the stock market to fall significantly. At 7:08 a.m. ET, the Dow E-minis were down by 709 points, or 1.87%. The S&P 500 E-minis fell by 86.5 points, which is a drop of 1.72%, and the Nasdaq 100 E-minis were down by 250.75
