Police Prevent Bomb Attack at Lady Gaga’s Rio Concert

On Sunday, Brazilian police announced they prevented a dangerous bomb attack that was planned for Lady Gaga’s huge concert at Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. This concert attracted over 2 million fans on Saturday. The police from Rio de Janeiro, with help from the Justice Ministry, found out that a group was planning to use explosives and Molotov cocktails to cause harm.

The group was known for spreading hate and was trying to recruit young people, including minors, to join their violent plans. They pretended to belong to Lady Gaga’s fan club, called the “Little Monsters.”

Thanks to information from the Cyber Operations Lab of the Justice Ministry and local police, authorities discovered that these people were using secret codes and symbols to talk about violence.

One man, seen as the group’s leader, was arrested in Rio Grande do Sul for having a gun without permission. A teen in Rio de Janeiro was also caught for storing child pornography. Police conducted searches in multiple states, including Rio de Janeiro, Mato Grosso, Rio Grande do Sul, and São Paulo, to find out more about this dangerous group.
