In New Delhi, everyone is excited about 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who just made history by becoming the youngest player to score 100 runs in a T20 cricket match. He played a fantastic innings of 100 runs off just 35 balls for the Rajasthan Royals against the Gujarat Titans, impressing cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar!
Another young player, 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre from the Chennai Super Kings, is also grabbing attention. He scored 94 runs off 48 balls against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Although Chennai lost by just two runs, their coach, Stephen Fleming, was really happy with Mhatre’s performance.
Coach Fleming praised Mhatre’s skills, saying, “He has great talent and a smooth style. He plays aggressively, which is important in modern T20 cricket.” He also mentioned the importance of playing well under pressure against top players.
Mhatre got a chance to play because the team’s captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, got injured. So far, Mhatre has scored 163 runs in just four matches, with an amazing strike rate of 185.
Fleming admired the fearless attitude and skills of both Suryavanshi and Mhatre. “It’s impressive to see young players perform like this. They show maturity and skills that make it tough for bowlers,” he said. He also mentioned that the younger players might create challenges for teams competing in the Under-19 World Cup.
