Remembering Lt. Vinay Narwal: A Call for Peace and Unity on His 27th Birthday

On what would have been the 27th birthday of Indian Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, his wife, Himanshi Narwal, shared a touching message for peace and unity. Vinay was one of 26 people who lost their lives to terrorists at Baisaran, near Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22.

Speaking to reporters, Himanshi, who studies for her PhD in Gurugram, said, “I want everyone in the country to pray for him, so wherever he is, he stays healthy and happy.” She also stressed the importance of not turning against any community. “We don’t want people to blame Muslims or Kashmiris. We want peace, only peace. We also want justice,” she added.

In honor of Vinay’s 27th birthday, a blood donation camp was held in Karnal, Haryana. Both Narwal’s mother and wife, Himanshi, became emotional while people paid their respects to the brave Naval officer. The camp was organized by a local NGO called the National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists. Many speakers praised the late officer for his service to the country and said he would always be remembered in everyone’s hearts. One speaker mentioned that while terrorists harmed innocent people, the blood donation camp could help save many lives.

BJP MLA Jagmohan Anand from Karnal was also present at the camp. Vinay and Himanshi had just gotten married a week before the tragic attack and were on their honeymoon in Pahalgam when the terrorists shot Vinay.
