Arvind Shrivastava Becomes New Revenue Secretary in Finance Ministry

Arvind Shrivastava, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from Karnataka, has recently become the new secretary of revenue in the Union finance ministry. He started this important job on Thursday after being appointed by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on April 18, during a big shuffle of senior government officials.

                                                                                                       Before this new role, Arvind worked as an additional secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) since March 25, 2021, where he managed personal and general administration. Prior to that, he was a joint secretary in the PMO starting September 4, 2019.

                                                                               He has also held key positions in the finance ministry, where he worked in the department of economic affairs (DEA) from May 10, 2018, until he moved to the PMO. Arvind has a strong background in administration, having been a development officer at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and worked in various departments in Bengaluru, including finance and urban development.

                                                                           Arvind Shrivastava comes from Uttar Pradesh and studied civil engineering. He also has advanced degrees in economics from Mysore and finance from the University of London.
