Modi Honors Basava on His Birth Anniversary and Wishes Happy Akshaya Tritiya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored Basava on his birthday, a famous thinker and leader from the 12th century, who was born in what we now call Karnataka. On Basava Jayanthi, Modi shared on X, saying that we remember Basaveshwara’s deep wisdom. He believed in helping the less fortunate, and his ideas still inspire us today. Basava is especially celebrated among the Lingayat community. The Prime Minister also congratulated everyone on Akshaya Tritiya, hoping it brings new energy to our goal of building a “Developed India.”
