Joann Stores, a well-known fabric and craft retailer in the U.S., has filed for bankruptcy for the second time in January 2025. As a result, they will close about one-third of their stores across the country. According to Jo Anne McCusker from the GA Group, the company making decisions for Joann, up to 255 stores will shut down by the end of April 2025.
This means that out of 500 Joann Stores, many will be closed soon. Scott Carpenter, the CEO of GA Group’s Retail Solutions, confirmed this in February.

– Seattle: NW 57th Street
– Clarkston: Gateway Square
– Warrenton: Un-named Shopping Center
– West Lebanon: Target Plaza
– Beaverton: Canyon Place
– Klamath Falls: Jefferson Square
– Woodland: Westgate S/C
– Jackson: Grocery Outlet S/C
– San Mateo: South El Camino Real
– Redwood City: Peninsula Boardwalk
– Morgan Hill: Tennant Station S/C
– Long Beach: Los Coyotes Centers
– Tucson: Oracle Wetmore

Joann Stores have been a part of America’s shopping landscape for nearly 80 years. After filing for bankruptcy in January, all of Joann’s assets were sold to GA Group, a well-known retail liquidator. The closure announcements came shortly after, in February 2025.
