On Friday, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar left a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) because it was not conducted properly, according to people in the House. Sources from an opposition party said he walked out because ruling and opposition members were arguing sharply about discussing issues related to duplicate voter ID numbers and sending bills for review by parliamentary committees.
That day, there were heated debates in the Rajya Sabha after Samajwadi Party leader Ramji Lal Suman called Sanga a “traitor.” In response, some members of Karni Sena damaged Suman’s home in Agra on Wednesday. Because of this situation, the Rajya Sabha took a short break, and opposition members walked out in protest on Friday. The Opposition MPs condemned the attack on Suman’s home, while ruling party ministers and MPs criticized Suman’s remarks and demanded he apologize.
