As the Indian Premier League (IPL) gets ready for another exciting season, players will be flying a lot for their matches. Each team will play 14 games—seven at home and seven away. Last time, during the Champions Trophy, teams like New Zealand and South Africa had a tough time flying back and forth between Pakistan and Dubai. For players like David Miller, travel can be a real hassle. After his team’s departure from the tournament, he said, “It’s only an hour and 40-minute flight, but having to do that was not great. It’s early morning, right after a game, and we had to fly… It’s not fun.”

This IPL season, players have to get ready for more travel! While everyone is excited about the games, traveling can be tiring. For example, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will cover over 17,000 kilometers just in the league stage alone, according to Times of India’s Tanuj Lakhania. That’s a lot of flying!

In the midst of all this travel, Abhishek Porel from Delhi Capitals shared what it’s like being an IPL player. He mentioned, “It’s all in your mind. If you see it as a problem, it will feel like a problem. But if you enjoy it, it becomes a normal part of your day.” He highlighted that knowing when to focus on the game and when to relax is important in handling such a busy schedule.

His teammate Karun Nair agreed, saying, “We all love playing cricket. We shouldn’t complain about traveling because we’ve played enough to know this is part of playing at this level.”

With eight different places to play in, teams will face unique challenges. The Delhi Capitals will travel the second-shortest distance at 9,270 kilometers, while the Chennai Super Kings will travel a huge 16,184 kilometers!

Here’s how much distance each team will cover in IPL 2025:
