A brave Chinese woman named Wang Nan, known online as Wang Nuannuan, survived a terrible event in June 2019 when her husband, Yu Xiaodong, threw her off a cliff in Thailand. He did this because he wanted to take her money and pay his debts. Wang suffered severe injuries with 17 broken bones and had to undergo many surgeries. Tragically, she lost her unborn child in the fall.

Doctors said Wang might never have another baby, but after a lot of hard work in rehabilitation and medical treatments, she proved them wrong. Last September, she joyfully announced the birth of her son through in vitro fertilization (IVF), a big achievement that her many fans celebrated.

However, when her baby was born, he was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. Since he was three months old, he has been going to regular doctor visits, receiving surgery, and undergoing rehabilitation. Despite these challenges, Wang is committed to being a strong mother. She wants her baby to know that she will always be there for him as he grows up.

Supportive messages poured in from other mothers who had faced similar problems. One mother shared that her child also had a serious heart issue but is now thriving after surgery.

Living in Hangzhou, Wang shares her life on social media and has gained 4.6 million followers on Douyin. She sells baby products and snacks during her live streams. Even though she is strong, she still deals with the aftermath of the past. Wang’s husband is in prison for 33 years, but their divorce isn’t finalized. He is demanding 30 million yuan (about US$4 million) from her for emotional distress and other claims, making the legal situation complex.

Through all her hardships, Wang continues to focus on her son’s recovery and the future. Her story inspires many people, reminding us that even in tough times, hope and strength can help us move forward.
