Actress Rosamund Pike, known for her roles in famous films, loves acting in characters based on books. Over her 20-year career, she has starred in popular stories like “Pride & Prejudice,” “Gone Girl,” and “Jack Reacher.” Currently, she is part of the hit fantasy series “The Wheel of Time,” based on the novels by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson.

In an interview, Pike said that having a book to guide her helps a lot since it offers insights into her character’s thoughts and feelings. “If you can play a character with a literary background, it’s an exciting experience,” she noted. She even mentioned her recent movie “Saltburn,” directed by Emerald Fennell, which was intended to be a novel.

“The Wheel of Time” series contains 14 lengthy novels, providing a deep history and plenty of material to explore her character, Moiraine Damodred. In this magical world, only certain women can wield magic. The story follows Moiraine on a quest with five young people, trying to figure out who can save or destroy humanity.

Pike highlighted the teamwork required to create this big show, explaining that everything, from vehicles to costumes, had to be specially made. It involves thousands of hours of work from talented people. They filmed in real locations instead of using green screens, making the world feel authentic and alive.

Her co-star Josha Stradowski shared his excitement about playing different characters in the second season, especially in the episode “Daughter of the Night,” where he experiences a range of emotions and costumes. The show also includes familiar faces like Daniel Henney and Zoe Robins and is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.
